Boosie says : Uhh…we know its not the same 12 people clicking….I’m talking about his music videos….Ace hood has over 2 million hits, and thats the best indicator of who’s more popular at least in this situation….It’s not the Best indicator overall but in this situation its a tangible way of what we can see who is more popular

….. but it’s not, thats the best indicator of the people who stay checking for youtube videos, but your leaving out an entire group of people, all the ones who don’t watch youtube videos and I know I’m not the only one. Videos ain’t what they used to be if you were talking downloads maybe you could make a case but shit I don’t even know if Wale or Charles Hamilton have a youtube video nor do I care so how can you factor all the people that think like me into your youtube vote ?
    _________________________________________________________

Let’s not down play youtube….I’m not talking about some random dvd bullshit I’m talking about an official video that is shown on BET or possibly mtv 3….anyone can check out youtube at a local library or at their friends house…Most people don’t just hop on youtube and playing videos….BUT guranteed that if they saw a video on Bet that they will watch it again on youtube if they want to see the video again and not have to wait…..

And yes Youtube is the best indicator that we have in this discussion at this point unless you can provide some other evidence….If you want to go billboard charts or wikipedia profile we definitely can….I mean we can go to google searches or yahoo searches and type in ace hood and see that he bodies every other competition….we are on the internet so I can only show you in internet terms…I can’t collect 80 people and say who do you know wale or ace hood….it is what it is

    radio> internet

…. do you understand the concept of micro and macro ? you understand most radio and print media ( notice I said most ) is in the immediate area only ? not the internet the internet is worldwide, so everything you get on the radio and print media you can get here to, does it work the other way around ? nope, even TV is mostly just regulated nationally so if your an internet rapper you stand a better chance of being recognized worldwide but because they aren’t playing that shit on the radio in b-more or louisiana it’s not important, just important enough that you guys need to come here and bitch about it with people located all across the globe ….

  7. Joe 88 Says:

as for your question about what rappers got famous off the interent I would say o about 95 % of the rappers out now or in the last couple of years, Budden fan base, you think people would know who Term is without the internet

^SMH, no one knows these niggas, budden included, if he was “that poppin” as ya’ll say he was, why his album keep getting pushed back? If he was in popular demand like everyone on the internet says he is, he would’ve been had something out there, he went to a independent & his shit still got pushed pack, smfh, he gets love on the internet & can’t even get a album out on a internet label *dead*

Why would a label put trust in a internet rapper when internet fans only download anyway?

Do you understand of the world right now….in the next 15-20 years internet prolly will take over as the top media spot but as in right now being on the cover of a magazine is greater than being on a cover of a blog…..Being on tv>Being on the internet…..Internet media is a starting point point blank period….You’re not going to get put on TV just because you release a mixtape….

Most people have tv’s more than the internet….Most people who buy rap music are fans of rihanna, ludacris, soulja boy and 50 cent so they aren’t on nahright or worldstarhip hop checking for charles hamilton and wale….t

  12. TheCo!!inB Says:

niggas are really avoiding here is who flat out is a better artist. to me (and anyone who seriously loves the shit out of music) which of these artist gives you music with replay value. whose giving you verses that don’t alienate but also don’t fall into the standard niche of what a NY/SOUTHERN/WEST COAST/MIDWEST artist should sound like. some niggas on XXL’s list fall in and some don’t.
Keep it mother fuckin funky though cause arguing about who’s more known is about as irrelevant and arguing about first week sales these days…youre grossly missing the point
and with that said Wale is shittin on most of these niggas,

  16. Ty big's Says:

smh @ joe still in denial that people know who joe budden is, you want to talk about when the last time you left the house, just turn on a basketball/baseball game they still play pump it up and fire on the regular at these games ( does that mean anything as how talented he is no but that shits been playing for years and years now and your talking about ace hood and his 1 song and the world knows him GTFOH )

as for him getting his album pushed back I’m sorry but didn’t 50 have his album pushed back ? so that must mean ace hood is more known than 50 too right ?

… thats the point of these posts though, to get you to know them if you want, why do people have to hate on someone trying to expose you to music you may or may not like, you sound mad bitter, it’s like everyone who gets a post you have a grudge with just because you don’t have one, I actually fucked with a couple of the things I heard from you but if everyone is as close minded as you how do you expect anyone to give you a chance cause I promise no one outside on nah and like a 4 block radius of where you live has heard of joe 88, thats not a shot either thats just some ol do unto others as you would have them do unto you type shit …..

hey joe I think releasing music online is a good way to get feedback from the masses.

^Co-sign, the funny thing is, i’m not hating or tryna deny the internets impact, but most of these guys that be online so long forget & really thinks the internet favorite = more popular, which hasn’t been proven yet, until a solid artist can become a superstar off the internet (besides soulja boy) I wont belive most of the boo boo these niggas spit, they let there feelings get in the way. Personally I hate ace hood, & will never listen to his songs, but I have heard them on the radio plenty of times, heard him in clubs, etc, but have yet to hear of a wale, charles etc offline yet, & there doper than ace, but that’s not the point of this arguement, which they fail to realize, there letting there feelings & there opinions get in the way of facts, & nas said it the best

you niggas deal with emotions like bitches

  23. Carlos Voltron Says:

Isn’t unfair to compare youtube hits of the LONS? Of course Ace Hood has more youtube hits; he’s actually releasing an album… or he’s supposed to sometime soon. He has made videos for said album. Everyone (except for Blu I think) hasn’t released an album but they’ve been grinding with mixtapes, features, blogs, etc. I think we should compare number of live shows and how packed they are and # of features by different artists.

  24. TheCo!!inB Says:

Why would a label put trust in a internet rapper when internet fans only download anyway?
^why would an artist with any sense sign with a major to begin with…..signing with a label is the dumbest shit on earth. it is being proven right now that the industry is folding in on itself because they cannot evolve pass cd format sales. print media is dying and radio is dying (and i’m a huge advocate for print media)….this is all shit that is being statistically proven. the internet is winning right now.
the only benefit to signing with a major is their ability to put your music out on shelves, but if I, the actual artist can control how I put my shit out and when, AND bank on sites like nahright to give me access to ears i’d gladly take that over interscope.

    ^good fucking question.

….. thats why in the next couple of years you will see labels move to selling downloadable links instead of going to the store, guess what either way you need to be on the internet to get it, also people need to realize rappers don’t make money off their albums, most don’t obviously 50 and Em do and a few others but most the time your getting shit after you pay the label back so if you sign a deal all your doing is signing a deal to advertise yourself that way you can have concerts do advertisments all that, thats where you make the money and that where it’s always been not in album sales, the suits get that money …

That’s the point of the cover to get all these cats exposure. HAHA.

And I knew everyone on that damn cover except Ace Hood, and I live in the south.
When I saw that nigga I thought Midget Mac Grew up and started rappin’.

None of them niggas will sell now, but in 1 or 2 years Ace hood will be gone. He won’t be anybody.

And Wale knows Mark Ronson. That alone will boost his popularity. Mark Ronson has pop connects that Ace Hood could never have.

did anyone watch this video? why are random mofos always saying ‘obama isn’t your savior’? WHO THE HELL SAID HE WAS? LOL. the time these dudes are spending rapping would be better used to tutor some kids. i know RBG and them do community organizing. they just stick to that full time, because releasing a documentary that only 100 people are going to see is a waste of effort compared to the additional community work they could have been doing in the time it took for them to make this video responding to something NOBODY SAID.

i just got in an argument with a dude last night about this. he said the same thing and i said ‘name ONE person you know that said obama was their savior’ and he started stammering and choking on his beer. he changed the subject to mckinney right after that. dudes are lost.
