    ^CO-FUCKING-SIGN

I’ma let ya’ll in on a lil secret (n/h) I know I get joked on for liking boosie/gucci/ etc, but around one of the old blocks I use to live on they called me lil jay-z cause I listened to him so much, you wouldn’t belive how many mofo’s that would break a jay-z cd if you try to throw that shit in the system. It’s been like that for a while, & it’s really worst now, let me try to rock “jockin jay-z” somewhere with gorillas close, they gonna look at me like i’m crazy, but soon as that gucci mane come on, it’s a rap. Real talk, since about, 99 I heard niggas say they aint like jay-z, & this was before everybody with lil or ezzy in there name was a rapper. In some hoods

    Gucci >>>>>>>>> Jay-Z

  8. Paperstacker Says:

I know, but I think there’s a strong connection to the type of music or artists a person listens to, and that persons personality and level intelligence.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Nah, that’s far from the truth. Some of the smartest people I’ve known listen to the most ignant shit out there.

But on the other hand I agree with you, people who aren’t open minded about music, etc and criticize specific rappers or hate them for being “smart, different or too intelligent” are most often dumb ignorant niggas and that more than often sums their intelligence if they think something educational or something true to life that has an ounce of sense is stupid.

Or they just happen to be very young, that’s excusable. When you grow up you become more open minded to different types of music.

  9. eskay Says:

if somebody outside of the culture tried to say that dumb shit about Gucci’s fans being ignorant and Buddens or Hov fans being smart I would spit in their face, but amongst us, I gotta say…you have to question the intelligence level of somebody who can’t appreciate Joey or Hov’s lyricism but goes apeshit for Gucci Mane music.

  10. eskay Says:

    >>people who aren’t open minded about music, etc and criticize specific rappers or hate them for being “smart, different or too intelligent” are most often dumb ignorant niggas

^yeah, that’s truth right there. cuz like I said, I like to dumb it down with some Jeezy and Uncle Murder, but my tastes run the full spectrum.

    ^^^^^
This is B’More? Im not calling you a liar but i find that extremely hard to believe….

  12. eskay Says:

I gotta post more Gucci shit though, that one post generated mad comments.

  13. Paperstacker Says:

Lots of “hip hop heads” don’t like jay because the niggas subject matter revolves around the same money centric material , braggadocios shit. It’s aint even north/south. People on the west/east are actually more likely to say that shit.

That’a straight out the horses mouth. Not my opinion. I think Hov one of the greats but not liking him ain’t a sin.

Then again some of these dudes listen to the most backpacker/ underground type shit.

  14. KilluminattI7 Says:

but amongst us, I gotta say…you have to question the intelligence level of somebody who can’t appreciate Joey or Hov’s lyricism but goes apeshit for Gucci Mane music.

    ^^^^

    Very well said.

    *has newfound respect for eskay*

  15. Paperstacker Says:

Jay=one of the best to do it man.

Honestly I met some dudes that swear by niggas like Immortal Technique /Canibus and shit and try to claim Jay is garbage. SMH The same niggas close themselves off to any other hip hop with their elitist backpack opinions.

Like Es said I pretty much listen to everything across the
    spectrum.

  16. PHOENIXXX Says:

D-12’s song “How Come” is underrated

  17. Joe 88 Says:

but amongst us, I gotta say…you have to question the intelligence level of somebody who can’t appreciate Joey or Hov’s lyricism but goes apeshit for Gucci Mane music.

^lol @ but amongst us. Real rap, that shit goes either way, for every 2 hood dumb mofo that likes gucci, it’s a morgan studant that likes him. I’m starting to realize that people just like simple shit, no matter what it is. It’s the purest that take that shit too serious, like if gucci mane & budden was to drop on the same day & budden gets pushed back, the first thing a budden fan would say is “why they pushing budden back & not coochie man? he can’t even rap” but rap has little to do with certain shit, the purest are the people that get mad when there lyrical artist gets no shine, but someone with no talent does, there mad.

Really to be honest i’d say it’s 50/50 with the fan base of artist like gucci, half are smart, the other, yeah you know, cause gucci sold some records & aint no dumb hood nigga going to the store to by that shit. Someone else is listening, & it aint just hood niggas

  18. D_Block_4_life Says:

    @ Joe

Also, I know a good amount of niggas from Delaware which is right outside of Maryland and in 04 niggas was bumpin Hov, your former or current Hov fan, Billz is a pre- Black album Hov fan and Big Homie is a Hov Fan…..soooo thats weird that you say that ish about after 99….

  19. KilluminattI7 Says:

*but still doesn’t forgive eskay for his blatent lack of respect of the Legendary Larry Davis*

  20. Plug Says:

in the past 24 hours Ive listent to:

    spice 1 amerikkka nighmare
    canibus c of tranquility
    mobb deep americas nightmare
    nas stillmatic
    alchemist instramentals

    >This is B’More? Im not calling you a liar but i find that extremely hard to believe….

^I wouldn’t lie about this, I was shocked. When kingdom come came out, it was already over for him as far as majority of the people I came in contact with, the only niggas rocking that CD besides me was niggas that was in there 30’s, & bitches. No one rocked that shit, it was a time when any jay-z song got played in the club, I only heard a cut from kingdom come played in the club twice, & I was the only nigga on the dance floor then.

People that listen to Jay-Z in baltimore

niggas 27-28 (except me) and up
    bitches 25 & up

No one under that age group listens to jay-z

  23. KilluminattI7 Says:

  28. Paperstacker Says:

When canibus gets on a nice beat shit is bound to be on point. Half the time I don’t honestly listen to wtf bis saying, but his flow+lyrical vocab makes shit sound nice.

  29. eskay Says:

    >>*but still doesn’t forgive eskay for his blatent lack of respect of the Legendary Larry Davis*

how did I ever disrespect Larry Davis? you obviously don’t know me if you think I would ever show anything but the utmost respect for the god who went to war with NYPD.

^Both big homie & Billz are 27+ right? Don’t forget, this is coming from the people I came in contact with, i’m not speaking for the whole city, that would be crazy, but I came in contact with alot of people within lets say 04-today, more people didn’t like jay did the people that did.

Not to get off topic, but I feel that’s another reason why I think AG >BA majority of the people I came in contact with was just ready to get the whole BA experience over with, it was more like a “leave already” than a “farewell to the great” album to people, but I was surprised by how many people liked AG, that sourt of saved face for him with the people
