Johnny Depp is reportedly going to be a part of the next Batman installment playing the Riddler. And not only that, but execs want Philip Seymour Hoffman to play the Penguin.
I doubt the truth in the penguin rumor, because I distinctly remember Christopher Nolan saying that he was against the idea of using the Penguin in his Batman films, because of the character being too ‘far fetched’, but you never know. Depp as the Riddler on the other hand seems a more likely possibility, a good counterpart to Christian Bale’s Batman. But a bad guy as good as Heath Ledger’s Joker is going to be hard to match even for Johnny Depp. It’s far too early to tell right now, but there is obviously going to be a sequel. The Dark Knight has already made $462.2 million worldwide!

Most of the guest apperences on L.A.X are singers anyway, so they count, but not as much as a rapper doing a 16. If he’s got a song with a singer on there & he still kicks 3 verses it’s still imo, his song

Big homie that’s some big news… me and my friend were saying the only other person that would fit in the realistic style would be Riddler, and to think it may be Johnny Depp, is a good choice in my books… that sweeny todd character is what makes him a good candidate for the role… but Heath Ledger will always reign supreme as the best orchestrated vilian to be captured on film from a comic

If that happens, I’m officially seeing the next one opening night. Depp has serious skills as a dramatic actor, and that’s a role he could make really good.

This is the truth, Ledger only built off of what Jack put down, just like Jack built off of Ceasar Romero from the old Batman.
Darth Cipher, it was supposed to have a cartoonish element to it, this particular Batman was for all ages, the Dark Knight is themed toward a more mature audience, much like the comics.

I saw the first half of Brokeback; both Ledger and Gyllenhaal were pretty damn good in that movie. If you get past the fact that they’re gay (and I couldn’t care less about who they wanted to love/sleep with), they’re damn good characters in a well-written love story.
Also, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams were hot.

it’s the state of the industry folks…Jimmy Iovine is in a panic…his usual machine of controversy and beef isn’t working (peep back to the Death Row days) and they aren’t selling like before…Curtis was a rushed project because Jimmy wanted a album that could have several potential singles…so all of a sudden 50 was asked to collab with all the big pop names (Nicole, Robin Thicke, J Timberlake, Timbo, Em, Dre, Akon) hoping to garner huge attention…now he’s doing the same with Jayceon…fuck ya BWS rappers get Cube, Nas, Raekwon, Busta, Common, Wayne, Luda, Keyshia…the caliber of rappers will make LAX a tad better than Curtis…but it’s evident Game can’t hold his own…it sucks because he has the potential to be a better artist…his street cred in LA is pretty much non existent…but he does rep us on a large scale so we (in general) support his BS…
July 31st, 2008 at 5:20 pm
and for the dude who mentioned The Chronic and all of the guest appearances…it’s a lil different my dude…Dre is foremost a producer…so an album for him his whole artistry is creating the tracks for the right combo of people or specific artist…him rappin is second…so it’s all about features for Dre…look at a Timbaland album, or even Quincy Jones…but for a RAPPER to do an entire album with a feature for everything…it shows he needs a help…it’s not hate…just facts…so never compare the D R E with one of his offspring
