how do you feel about T.O.S only projected to do around 150k sold? its not a good look at all

but i dont think Nas is really that interested in going back and forth with 50..or vice versa… for what really?

    ^truth.com

lemme ask you this: Would Nas be holding 50 or whoever accountable for there part in destroying the culture, if Nas had sold 10 million each of his last 3-4 albums?…

    i know it’s hypothethical, but what u think cold….

^thats real broad, but IF, Nas content was the same and he did those numbers, then yea I could see him still sending shots at fif. But if he switched his shit up, and was on some pop singing shit, then nah, that would be non cipher. Or as pocket says haram.

  5. b-ease Says:

Can’t watch the video, but Nas/Def Jam is smart for this one. They spent bucketloads of cash on HHID promotion and really didnt see it come back signifigantly. They created a better buzz on this one just be pretending to name it NIGGER and leaking the tracks one at a time. Shrewd.

  6. buddyholly Says:

Gotta respect Nas for that, he just don’t give a shit… all about the music wit him

  7. eskay Says:

^^ truth.com… hopefully these sad numbers will wake curtis up, he needs to FALL THE FUCK BACK on this rap scene. His agressive content is oversaturated in the market.

  33. PHENOMENON Says:

G-Unit has fallen from grace. It used to be that a record deal with them was pretty much a guaranteed success.

And just look at what Banks, Ya-Yo, and Buck have been reduced to. I would never in my life bow down to someone like that. They don’t even look like men around 5O, it’s sad.

  34. buddyholly Says:

hey 2x for the record i aint no “g-unit hater”

I copped both the bodysnatchers and the elephant in the sand mixtapes and their were both heat rocks

    This T.O.S album though… smh

  35. eskay Says:

If G-Unit sells less than what Plies did two weeks ago, I would consider it a flop. So mark me down as saying, “anything under 225 for G-Unit is a flop”.

  48. icon (trillbert arenas) Says:

f gunit is over, what is D-Block then?

**D-Block never really blew up, but there’s enough talent in that camp, to the point where that’s always a possibilty—they’ll never reach G-Unit status, but they may recapture that Lox glory…G-Unit is an industry, though, and right now, that industry is based on a product that is clearly faltering on the demand side of things…

  49. b-ease Says:

I will still cop the official on the 15th, I think this is another classic from the man. I’ve been waiting for an album like this from NAS for years. He would touch on the topic ever so often throughout his catalogue; he went head on this time. Kanye, ya right; the Queens Homie is the greatest rapper of all time. Younguns, you gotta understand, ILLmatic open up eyes and minds like no other rap album in the 90s( I stole the ish from my boys tapedeck the first time I heard it and I still have the cassette to this day). The rap fraternity gives this man the utmost respect. If NAS had toured extensively with Illmatic, that album would have been the THRILLER of Hiphop in 92.

The fried chicken track is crazy. I’m coppin’ a dub of KUSH and that album on the 15th. This is an event right now. This is like standing in line to see Beat Street @ Carib Cinema in Cross Roads, Jamaica.

@dblock – sorry, “Ryde or Die Chick” just sucked. Then and now. I agree that tracks 1 up until “Ryde or Die Chick”, flawless. Then there’s the Sheek solo, the track I mentioned with Drag, and the title track (which was like a lazier “Fuck You”). My stance on the last 20% of that album stands.

is there a latino national anthem? do they play that shit in public latino majority grade schools?

^This is B’more city. A BLACK city. We have about a 1% Latino population. What do you mean “get away” with? It was approved by our city boards and superintendents. Your “culturally diverse” demographic doesn’t allow it for that reason.

  98. D_Block_4_life Says:

@dblock – sorry, “Ryde or Die Chick” just sucked

^Take that back. If I was ridin’ around with a chick (her whip or mine) that song could still get turned up to maximum volume.
    ^^^
“Yeah, what’s up ma, what’s going on, I know you know ‘Kiss
The nigga with the hot flow and a cold wrist
Can flow always, sit on 4 K’s
Then wait for a drought and flood ’em with all ‘dres
Ryde or die chick, hand do a B.I.
Give a nigga up north some ass on a V.I.
And she blackout when she in the mall
Got the brand new spring Prada shit in the fall
Don’t matter what size panties, fitting her small
And she don’t got no problem hittin’ us all”

Ease ok fine you dont like ride or die but the very last song on the LP, The actual song called We Are The Streets is bananas….

    *serious Face*

nigga I went to ps 179 in brooklyn… pleas tell me how your school got away with playing the black national anthem over the PA system?

^I’m going out on a limb here, but in the late 80’s baltimore population was 110% black.

^Word. White people didn’t start migrating back to the city until about the mid 90’s. Now they’re about 35 to 40-somethin’ % of the population. As gentrification continues, it’ll be more of them than us in B’more by the year 2020. Or at least about even.

lol, when I read that I was like “shit, did this nigga grow up in Montgomery circa 1957? 1937 Germany? Jesus

^^ thats really funny B.. I spoke to a couple of my niggas and they aint never heard of no black anthem

    they from NYC, NJ, etc

^As much as I love it up north, that’s a major downfall for me. It’s nothing wrong with a culturally diverse environment because you get to learn about other cultures. But many times our own children aren’t gettin’ the necessary information that they need to know about our own culture. But the fucked up part is that B’more, as Black as a city it is, has no cultural foundation. You don’t see Nubian culture prevalent anywhere even though we’re populated with over 50+% Blacks. And we’re some poor-ass conservatives who are afraid to branch out and be different until someone from somewhere else says it’s ok. I was just talkin’ with one of my old heads and he was sayin’ how it’s a “strange spirit” here that harbors over the city. Nobody is receptive of anything culturally or intellecutally beneficial to our people. Shits crazy man. All the older homies (from other places) say that this place is “strange.” And I know exactly what they mean.
