Hahahaha…I knew Chea would take offense…I’m not talking about people from the big cities…

But I live in SD, a military town, and through all my work experiences I’ve met plenty of people from Iowa, Indiana, Ohio…and I’ve really been taken back by the things I’ve heard come out of their mouths [ll]…

Like since I’m white and nobody’s around I’m just gonna co-sign numerous N-bombs and all sorts of other racist shit…

Or before the last election, “you’re not voting for Bush?!?! You don’t care about the troops?!?!?!”

Obama Had to denounce Rev. Wright for political purposes. I understand the move, but then again, It’s like you’re caving into whitefolks pressure.

***Jeremiah Wright forced that move, by going on a media blitz- if Obama didn’t say something, then it woulda been implied that he co-signed on everything…Let’s not get it twisted- image is everything….Howard Dean said all the right things for a year and a half, then let out one “YAAAHHH!!!” (no Souljah Boy),and all of the sudden, his entire movement fell apart and he was the media’s laughing stock…it only takes one thing to blow the whole thing up- Obama knows that, and Jeremiah Wright is well connected and politically savvy enough to know that too….I really think that somebody has put him up to sabotaging Obama—and let’s not forget, before Obama cut dude off (no guillotine), Wright took some shots @ him…

I got in the Lou and E. St Louis, Ill that SWEAR Gary (or GI as they it) is THE GULLIEST SPOT IN THE COUNTRY

    but, I never been, so…. w/e w/e w/e

    ^

i’ve been to gary about a 1,000 times, i got family and friends there

yes it’s the gulliest place on earth and not in a good way

shit is a fucking jungle war zone whatever you want to call it

baghdad, afghanistan, taliban, all that shit except in the United fucking States

i got a friend who grew up there, he was kidnapped as a kid then escaped, he’s been shot at, cut up, been in tons of fistfights, kid could start rapping right now and nobody would believe the stories but i seen him go through it all growing up

shit is disgustin b, it’s an embarassment to our country that a place could be like that, just fucking depressed and utterly fucked up

and the sad shit is, the street named broadway that runs through it used to be amazing in the 50s, but it just shows that any place can go to shit

^ True. To paraphrase Two Times, you have to answer or it’s another L.

But the proliferation of these joints from low to mid-level artists is getting tiresome, and you have to question their motives (or at least question why none of Rap’s global megastar’s are spitting verses on this).

I mean, is it really going to get them press though? it’ll get them posts on a bunch of blogs and websites that most of them would have gotten anyway for a regular song.

…if you’re a rapper and you have something to say about the case, should you not say it because too many other rappers have already spoken on it?

..and this is typical rap fan shit. I mean, niggas are still crying over the lack of response to Katrina and the Jena 6 shit. if you don’t say nothing, you’re wrong, if you say something, you’re wrong.

Personally, I judge each one of these songs individually. if some dude I’ve never heard of all of a sudden drops a Sean Bell Tribute, I may pause before posting it. however, if the song is particularly poignant or presents a unique view, then why not post it…

it’s whatever to me, but I guess it’s mine and other bloggers/website’s job to document all this shit, so it is what it is.

^ That’s a valid point, and if you accpet that there is no real positives in terms of a raised profile for an artist, it possibly exonerates dudes from the self-promotion argument. But the ? Remainz ((c) you know who) why are Rap’s elite not as moved to comment as the less established acts.

How so? Its not like his message CHANGED when he got on TV. All he did was find a bigger soapbox to stand on. Aint nothing wrong with that.

For DECADES black people been complaining that smart, informed bredahs like Rev.Wright have no forum to speak…But when it actually happens everyone complains…Why? Because having a trophy Black President is more important? Because mainstream White America cant handle the message (READ: THE TRUTH)?

And the icing on the cake is when black people say “Oh its the truth, but its not the right TIME for that”.

    WTF??

What kinda House Nigger Sambo shit is that?

Call me crazy, but I dont understand

well, who are the rap elite? let’s name names here. so far, out of rappers with mainstream appeal, I’ve heard Game, Nas, Talib, and Mos speak on it. plus, it’s only been a week. maybe some dudes don’t want their shit lost in the sea of tributes.
