cosign. I been tryin to listen to AG lately. Its got just as many hot songs as Rick Ross’s new album. Aproximately 3 1/2. I cant front on that song “bad guy.” I had that on repeat for about 4 days now

And Prodigy brought up a good point. He did make it cool not to rhyme. because thats what Jay did on that whole album

umm.. if hovie is so savy, why did he tank as the president of Def Jam? Seriously, what talent did he recruit, groom and develop into succesful artists? No really, I wanna know.. Seriously, please tell me.
    ^^^^^^
I dont know why im entertaining this but here goes, Def Jam isnt just a label that houses RAPPERS, Ne-yo went platinum twice, jeezy went platinum twice, ludacris went platinum, fab went gold, ross went gold and is about to go gold again and rhianna enjoyed her success……that isnt enough? and didnt hov get hustler of the year award or something like that when he was president? oh and not to mention hov went platinum twice

  8. Digital scales Says:

Show me proof of anything that stats the opposite? Any succesfull artist on Def Jam during his stay already had star power. He developed nobody, everyone he signed TANKED. Period.

    ^^^
So you judge Jay’s business savvy on his Def Jam tenure? Because he sold a slew of records before that…put on a slew of emcees before that too. How do niggas hate Jay so much??? If anything, niggas should hate the shit outta Puff; his artists REALLY get fucked over

lol @ the Overweight Joseph photo

false. Jay z is like Jordan. He’s still the man, he has more paper and endorsements. But he will get crossed over by Allen Iverson one of these young hungry rappers

False, he’s on a different echelon therefor he talks about different things that niggas dont relate to like digi said, but for what its worth the lyrically content is outta this world….like interlect would appreciate Kingdom come but hood niggas cant relate so they will say its wack when in actuality they dont understand whats hes saying….

even if we say Jay didn’t do shit at Def Jam, what does that have to do with shit? if he in fact didn’t, then he just raped Universal for the 10 million a year salary he was getting and I applaud him for that. if you were an artist signed to Def Jam under Jay you lost for even signing to a major.

  21. Digital scales Says:

  26. cOLD Says:

Yo how come you aint hear shit more from Dehaven, after Jay finally addressed him with the line

” Fuck dehaven for caving, thats why we dont speak made men aint supposed to make statements”

Isnt that what Dehaven wanted; Jay to acknowledge his existence.

You think Jay gave the nigga some hush money
    or
Or what Jay said struck a cord and Dehaven realized he was being bitchmade by airing the dirty laundry and that it is in fact true made men dont talk reckless regardless.

    ———-

Jay did get Nas and Kiss a nice grip of money and a good situation before his departure from defJam, applaud him for that.
