Video: Q-Tip – Midnight 2008 (Live)

Smirnoff held a little press conference and performance last night in support of their Signature Mix Series ad campaign. Above is a clip of Q-Tip performing the remix to ATCQ’s Midnight, which is the only track from the project which hasn’t been officially released yet. Apparently it’s also the only one that retained its original lyrics. Beat by Cool and Dre.

Here’s a clip of Common freestyling.

Props to Mikey Fresh for the footage. Go chec out his blog and Youtube channel for much more.

I remember in the early 00s some industry analyst talked about this being the future i.e. smirnoff, Kodak, coke e.t.c will sign or cut deals with musicians and there will be no more record labels. That mugg was psychic.

    >What you mean by gutta?….His so called gutta music is played in the club…

^So that makes the music not gutta? They use to play “No Limit Soilders” in the club & that’s the ultimate gutta song, just because it get bump in the club don’t make it less gutta. Yo Gotti gets bump in the club down here & not the singles either

    >>>The dude is not even gutta by that definition, this nigga aint never put no work in the streets….I aint taking nothing away from him, but dont believe that savage shit, thats just to sell records, the only thing this nigga did was snatch purses..he’s lil boosies weed carrier..

^We already had this conversation a million times on here boosie, you know that a rappers backround plays a small part in the music, it helps if a rappers real, but if he aint, that still shouldn’t take away from his music. I don’t know if he’s real, if he aint, oh well, he fooled me, & i’ll still bump it, I don’t listen like “is he really real? If not i’m throwing my CD away”, flatout Webbie is gutta, he makes good music, & he doing him, I can’t do nothing other than support that.

Ok, I can feel you on why you like him, and you feel he make’s gutter music….He’s like an East coast fabolous…Makes “decent” hood music but can appeal to the women..

Let’s put it like this Webbie makes gutter bounce music…All His songs can be played in the club.

If you feel webbie makes gutta music, thats one thing but to say the nigga is gutter….Is outta proportion, this nigga grew up in sherwood forrest, which is a suburb aint nothing gutta about that….
