^^^ don’t be dumb. he’s no sidney poitier, but diddy did a damn good job in “raisin in the sun”

^How is my analysis dumb? I saw the play on Broadway back in ‘04 and he was down-right mediocore. Diddy is a horrible thespian which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has peeped any part he has played in anything. The production company attached his name to it because they knew it would generate big bucks. Bill Nunn, Sanaa Lathan, Phylicia Rashad, and the rest of the cast made him look even more unworthy. Was Wood Harris, Blair Underwood, Don Cheadle, or perhaps some other worthy Black actor, not available?

He need to stick to writin’ rhymes checks.

historically there have been warm and cold periods, i’m sure the pollution plays a role in it getting even warmer than prior but at the same time I think they overexaggerate to profit off of it(c) Al Gore

^It has been recorded in history about the planet warming up before the introduction of cars and factories. What they are neglecting to tell us about global warming is the arrival of another planet in our orbit that passes through every few thousand years and its presence (the mass of 300 planet earths) is causing imbalances in the weather (c) Nibiru

Chauncey Billups, Andre Miller, Jason Kidd, Jameer Nelson and alot of the unheralded point guards are better physically than Steve Nash. Steve Nash is a very cerebral point guard , and I can’t front, very smart. But I think his coronation as THE point guard is because of his make-up. To think he is better than Chauncey is crazy. Chauncey Billups, IMO, is the BEST PG in the L. Hits big shots, bodies lesser guards and has an understated persona. He has never gotten the props he deserves. And I’m from Philly. TRUE. I would NEVER dispute that. But, truthfullly, neither was Isaiah (Joe Dumars) or Tiny. When A.I. was “loosed” he MURKED the L. At Georgetown, he ran P.G., for the first couple of years, in Philly, he ran PG, only when E. Snow came was he moved. A.I.’s role was not definable. I guess I was defining size.

Isaiah was more of a power point guard, meaning he could attack the rim with ease and run the offense all at the same time. He could slash, post up, defend, steal, and throw elbows all at the same time..

What I’m saying that Chauncey billups needs good players to suceed, you cant Build a team around chauncey, like you can Chris Paul…and Land you right, chauncey was picked third in the first round, but he fell off, came to detroit, and did his thing.

Chauncey is more a product of the detroit system than his skills per se, not taking anything away from him. But Rasheed was the key to that team.

I remember when You used to get chills when new yorks and the bulls played, thats how on edge the NBA games used to be.

Even when Drexler,Robinson,Miller, Barkely, malone, hakeem, isaiah all played Jordan, you use to plan your whole day around those events..Its not like that anymore, I dont get the same feeling when Im watching the NBA now, maybe when the playoffs start but even then its not the same feeling. When Reggie and Ewing use to square off your heart would be pounding and you couldnt sleep, cause you knew you were going to see a great game. Not like that anymore.

I might have to agree with Barkley that the NBA might need to raise its age limit, It’s really sickening that all this talent they drafted over the Last 6-8 years has slithered away. All these dudes can do is just Dunk and cross over, they have no skills just NFL combine ability. They cant shoot, cant post up, cant play D, they have no foot work game, its terrible.

Think about it, all these potential players takes about 5-7 years to develop, why not instill a minor league team, like MLB, and stop playing these 19-20 year olds right away cause they cant play at all. Overall league abililty has gone down..I mean has anyone see these garbage ass summer league games? These cats is seriously not ready.

I’ll take a buck williams, kevin duckworth, otis thorpe, mario elie, over a lot of these so called top prospects…

^That’s actually a good arguement, but I’ve heard some freestyles by Def off the album that were ridic. Mos’ last two albums have been mash-ups of hiphop+roots+soul, so he hasn’t showin’ that lyrical prowess of Black on Both Sides. So his next album will really determine if he’s still the master shining on the student (Talib), or if the student has passed the master. Talib’s last album was good too.

Only gripe I had was that it didnt FIT the album. It was FAAAARRR from wack though…I play that shit all the time

  184. Joe 88 Says:

I like 80ish beats, but “Hello Brooklyn” just don’t move me, like how “99 problems” did, now that’s a loud ass song also, but Jay-Z complimented the beat with his wordplay, story telling, & flow, on “Hello Brooklyn” he didn’t do none of that, at some points he sounded off beat, wayne was so wack on there also, that just adds on to the h8 I have for the song, but the other beat (by the grindhouse guys (pause)) really made the song enjoyable, horns & shit all in the backround, yeah that was hot, & truthfully with all the soulful beats on AG, “Hello Brooklyn” really felt out of place on the album

@ Rigz… Yeah, it’s like… he could’ve saved that for a mixtape. And you’re right, it wasn’t chopped now that I think about it. It was like a desperate attempt to have a Wayne song on his album because of popularity. He know that’s what draws the younger crowd in. And I still think that song is basura.

    *stamps Wayne-Hater card*

  186. 456 Says:

    Aint nothing wrong with that.

LL was able to stay relevant when Rakim faded away. And LL came out BEFORE Rakim…Ra aint been the same since he parted ways with Eric. B

^Rakim is the architect of modern hiphop. LL is wannabe will smith.

  187. D. Billz Says:

Joe88… yeah, I like 80ish beats too. Now how about you send me that other version of it… ol’ name drop it a hunned times lookin’…

Nope. Still cant believe it. SMH

Hello Brooklyn really distracted frm the theme of the rest of the album. actually i just find the beat wack….like is it tryin to be a down south beat, 80s…what?

but success is probably my fav beat 0f 07..damn No ID was in a zone

I guess its more preference…Mama said knck you out puts LL over Ra for me.

I ackowledge Ra birthed a new phase in lyricism…but LL encompassed more aspects. imo LL is to Rakim what Jay is to Big L. sure big l was nicer on the mic but Jay took that to another level

Its a remake of a classic Beastie Boys track.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

Wayne’s on it because it was Wayne’s song. He gave it to Jay. People are reading too much into all of this…

It didnt fit the LP, but Hello Brooklyn isnt wack. And niether is Wayne’s hook & bridge IMO.

  194. Joe 88 Says:

    Joe88’s Friday night

Got tipsy, got high, went to Iguana Cantina.

    Now let’s get into detail
First off, the club had to atleast have 4372890265278965278924639 people inside of it, which I hate cause for one, if something jumps off i:e bar brawl, niggas running a muck, fire, etc i’m getting the fuck out of dodge, even if I gotta blindside a couple bitches or bitch niggas to get to the exit, I mean it was really no breathing room in that bitch. Second it was the biggest sausage fest (pause) i’ve ever seen, niggas was scaring the hoes away, grabing there ass, leaning on the bitches, etc which really made it hard for a young pimp like me to get his mack on, now the bitches just wanna go home, they don’t want no niggas talking to em, nothing. Third did I mention it was the 3rd million man march in dat bitch? All these fake ass bloods & shit down there doing all sourts of stupid shit with they fingers, & soon as the boys (police) decided to put a end to that shit these niggas turn into hoes instantly, one of the cops threw this dude atleast 17 feet, he rolled in the grass then tried to talk hard, I was dying off that shit, that was the first time I was happy to see the police ruff a nigga up,then I heard a couple bitches yelling “Damn, they fucked that boy up bad” I turned around & see one nigga stoping traffic, 2 other niggas carrying there stomped out homeboys across the street, one had his arms, another had his legs, he was out for the count, all I know if something like that happen to me, there aint gon be no more club, cause i’m blowing that bitch up, light a cherry bomb in there or something, i’m not going out like that, I was so mad at the end of it all, I just walked to the car, no macking, no skirt chasing, nothing. I’m never going back to the Iguana, unless it’s college night, lol, atleast the drinks are free

^believe me i can go song for song and destroy anything ll came up with. rakim is LIGHT YEARS ahead of ll. and as an MC you should know that ll has never written anything to compare to Rakim. Ra’s greatest hits destroys ll’s. and it aint even close

    …Thats the second thing I cant believe I just read on a Hip-Hop site…

If you cant see LL’s influence on Hip-Hop (& EVERY MC in the game), I dont know what to tell you. Like, really.

Of course, you got your African ninjas on some ballin’ shit in there, but other than that it’s peace.

Yo, soon as the weather change I’m back on that D.C./Philly shit. But it’s gonna have to be more planned because I HATE drivin’ back to B’more that late because I be tired as ever.
