I mean… wasn’t that the point of the song “What More Can I Say?”… from the Black Album?

Clark Kent fell in love and Superman died

  2. Paperstacker Says:

Pac imo is still the blueprint for what a great MC should be.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

yeah but not quite.. All he lacked was lyricism and wordplay thats why Ill always think Hov and Nas deserve the GOAT title more than Pac. But fuck it, there are numerous GOATS, why there gotta be one GOAT? IN the NBA we consider Jordan, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, etc as The greatest of all time. In R&B there are a few artists considered among the greatest of all time, you never hear a GOAT of R&B, or a GOAT of Rock, it’s always a group of elite artists that are GOATS in those genres. I never really thought about it like this but this GOAT shit is always being talked abotu in hip hop. Cause of all the different opinions, likes/dislikes, etc there can’t be one goat.

  3. green eyes Says:

i could give a fuck how old a rapper is, if you are making dope music i want to hear, i’ll listen, fuck age.

if you arent saying anything i want to hear, im done.. simple as that. you could be 12, 22 or 202, if your shit is wack its wack.

i never said i wasnt riding for jay anymore cause hes too old.. foh thats some playground bullshit.

but cosign billz…. its always better to retire on top, leave them wanting more than to come back and taint a legacy. word to MJ

thing is no one stepped up to the plate to replace S dot…where Cory Gunz @?
    ^

Thats what I’m saying. Only in hip hop does someone have to replace the greatest at the time. smh. Just appreciate the music

not sayin dude should retire…but the baton needs to be passed.

    ^^

yeah but only the fans can decide that

i think a lot of people are convinced the baton already passed

and then of course you got the younger fans coming up who never thought jay was the GOAT

rakim was once the undisputed GOAT but now nobody thinks that

things change and you don’t even notice

    it’s like a recession

you don’t know it’s happening while it’s happening, but you can look back and say…yup, that was the changing of the guard

hov stans still think he’s the greatest

what they don’t realize is that shit is changing all around them and there are already people who gave that crown to somebody else

now pardon me while i play b.o.b. feat. amy whinehouse “grip your body” again…

^^^Not to knock your opinion, but I would say a great artist, but not a great MC. Dude was weak as an MC, but he was good at putting emotion in his verses. He only had like 1 flow.
    ^^^
Yes i fully agree that 2Pac was average when it came to lyricism….but he is the blueprint to me for what an MC can accomplish musically. Dude touched the globe profoundly from slums in India to 5 star suites in Paris.

  8. embark Says:

WHo the fuck is out there for him to give the crown too?!?!

but there’s no MC trying to aggresively take Jay’s spot. Weezy is trying right now…but he is yet to demonstrate that he can handle that crown.

We need an MC who can continually smash the game and take way attention frm Hov…coz Jay aint about to give nayone that lane…or @ least his fans arent.

LL– fuck a journalist, im not one. this is ho wi feel. as a fan, as someone who has supported him from day one of him saying fuck thew man, to starting a business, gto saying went on mtv with durags,m ade them love you, etc etc.. its tough for me to swallow him now becoming “the man”

i suported him, was a fan because he made dope music and i believed he stood for something. i dont think he stands for anything anymore. and his music.. its a shadow of what ot once was, but ill always be an early hov stan.

^^I understand that green…but the statement “he’s no longer repping for the struggle, the people, the everyday hustle” seems unnecessary…your white, in miami…”the people”? not U and not I..we not worrying about where our next meal is gonna come from, not having shoes on our feet, how we gonna feed our kids etcc… I just dont see why folks continue to say the man is out of touch with the everyday struggle of the common person..he’s been there, done that…..moved on and that shouldnt be looked at as a negative…..smh @ fickle hip-hop fans in general

If Pac is a weak MC, KRS and Rakim are even weaker

  12. moresickaMC Says:

…@ on that note… i would rather a new hungry MC comes out determined to take Hov’s spot than Jay hand it to any1 on a silver platter. thats the essence of hip-hop u have to be doper than the last….Nas came thru and took Rakims spot
