Actually, i’m gonna dub the CD to tape once i purchase it. Then i’m gonna play it in my whip

(which has a CD player AND tape player, but i’m gonna use the tape player just to be that stubborn cat who wants to feel a lil nostalgic from time to time).

then, i’m gonna get a high-top fade and start breakdancing on cardboard.

If those days were truly over, there would be no CD to buy in the first place. I can’t speak for everyone here, but I know I only use my iPod at the gym and at work every now and again…CDs (or their mechanical equivalent) will be relevant for a while…

if Curtis ships 1,000,000 records… does he think he won?

  22. State of Grace Says:

Why does it have to be one or the other? Cds I’m really excited about I will go and purchase, even if I have a digital version of it before it comes out, because some of the better artists actually use the entire format as art and not just the music. Artwork (which loses compared to vinyl art anyway) can make something worth owning and keeping for years, but a lot of music is so ready-made to be disposed of these days that I feel no remorse for downloading it. Anyone spending money on albums like Curtis needs to be put through an intensive four-week seminar about how that same money can be used for other things, like food or drugs

yeah man.. the digital age is cool and all.. but the biggest let down is about how fans act. I mention i’m looking forward to Dope Artist 1’s album and people like “yeah, but he aint gonna sell more than Smedium Rapper 072182931’s album”.. or tryna clown Dope Artist 1 cause he’s an indy rapper versus some generic rapper’s major label “success”. I think somewhere down the line fans got too wrapped up in the label/marketing politics and forgot to listen to the music. hip hop is the new wwf (c) T.Kwe

Rey Hussein, if la feria is an issue, you can cop 512 MB (~7 album) MP3 for like $30.

Go to a Microcenter retail store, or search pricegrabber.com on the internets

Damn for $150 these days you could prolly cop a 20 GB mp3 player.

IMHO the greatness of the MP3 player is too ill to still be fockin with mp3 cd players.

BTW there are many vendors besides Apple, Creative, SanDisk etc. You don’t have to fock with Apple [||] if you don’t want to.

This has been an ElGringoColombiano Consumer Report.

Yall stop worrying about sales & the WWF nonsense.

Take that time, & investigate the underground. There’s many several dope albums dropping in the underground yearly.

2006’s Panacea & ShinSight Trio were CLASSICs IMHO. No hypberbole, no stannery. Ill shit right there. ShinSight Trio the best jazz-rap since Tribe’s Midnight Marauders.

  39. State of Grace Says:

Probably healthier for you too Rey, that Curtis will rot your mind. Plus, the wings let you look at titties, Curtis makes you look at that awful picture of him that hootie has framed over his and ‘Twan’s bed

  40. Rey Says:

Thanks El Gringo.. Honestly tho’, I listen to actual industry CDs way more than I listen to burned CDs.. I’m sure I’ll cop an MP3 player eventually, but for now I’m good.

    Thanks again.

  47. Nah Right » Blog Archive » Common Says New Album in November Says:

[…] Common tells MTV that he’s going to drop his next album, The Believer, in November. He also insists that the project with Q-Tip is actually going to happen. “Q-Tip and I been planning the Standard album,” he said, referring to the duo the pair have formed. “We been conceptualizing, but we just gotta continue to work on it. We will. I look at it like two jazz musicians getting together, the way Charlie Parker and cats would get together and do work. I feel a lot more free with my music now that I’m doing films and stuff, because I don’t put as much pressure on the music. It ain’t my only source of income and way to make a living.” […]
