Kanye is the Anti-Curtis

While Curtis’s wig hangs precariously off the back of his skull, Def Jam has decided to actually move Kanye’s release date up. Previously scheduled for release sometime in September, Graduation is now looking at a "late August" date. You may recall that Def Jam tried to push Fab’s project up after he got shot last October. Cooler heads prevailed in that situation, but I think an earlier date may be appropriate in this situation.

No need to debate. There’s no way T.I.’s album is going to be better than all of those. Not to mention all the other albums that came out in the past 10 years. It might top a few, but not all.

    @ Joe8… shanti… whoever…

It has nothin’ to do with mainstream, it’s quality over dollars. Understand that most mainstream music is watered down due to the pressures of label issues and/or lack of hunger and creativity. Notice that there are many mainstream artists such as Ghostface, Killer Mike, Beanie Sigel, Royce Da 5’9, Common, B.G., and a few other who have been in the limelight for a while but never had any mainstream success as far as record sales. The aforementioned artists seem to have a hunger and a knack for creativity that allows them to make quality records. That’s why I don’t understand why people assume that the “hate” many of us have for 50 is unwarranted. We’re not hating him because he’s mainstream. That’s fuckin’ ridiculous. I was him success in all his endeavors. But he sacrificed the formula that made him popular on those mixtapes. And unfortunately, many artists don’t know how to intertwine the essence that gained them attention and the pressure of making a QUALITY, hit record for the mainstream.

And TIP, TI, whateva the lil’ ninja name goes by, is a prime example. His shine will soon be on the decline just like 50’s and many others.

    Meeting, adjourned.

SMH @ Ursher threatening the elderly…

Syndicated radio host Tom Joyner claims that R&B superstar Usher called him up to take issue with on-air comments he made regarding Usher’s fiancée Tameka Foster.

According to New York’s Daily News the Grammy award-winning singer dialed up Joyner to complain about jokes he made hinting at tension between Foster and Usher’s mother and former manager, Jonetta Patton.

Joyner says Ursh called him off the air threatening to “whoop my ass” following a broadcast which included jokes about Foster’s rumored role in having Jonetta Patton fired. According to reports, he was particularly incensed by journalist Jawn Murray’s crack to Joyner, “I wonder if he’s going to put a pink slip in her Mother’s Day card?”

“It’s so out of character for Usher to take such a hands-on approach to the media,” the Daily News quoted Murray. “He must really love this girl.”

Another Daily News source told the publication that Usher also called WBLS shock jock Wendy Williams and Hot 97 host Angie Martinez, asking them to “lay off Tameka.”

Meanwhile, Usher rep Chris Chambers said, “I don’t know of my client calling or threatening anyone. Radio personalities are going to talk about current news. We can’t put a muzzle on anybody.”

If calls were indeed made to Joyner, they did little to deter further cracks. Last week Joyner and sidekick, J. Anthony Brown, continued to poke fun at the singer while aboard the Fantastic Voyage Cruise during a Caribbean benefit for historically black colleges that included performances from LL Cool J, the O’Jays and others.

“Who’s afraid of Usher?” Joyner asked before inviting anyone in the audience who knew Usher “to tell him we’re not afraid of him.”

In related news, Usher is presently working on his sixth album. The album will reportedly feature a guest appearance from Jay-Z and production from Jermaine Dupri and Dre & Vidal.

^We’ll have to wait & see, cause curtis was @ the top of his career when he first came out, then his career started to decline, but T.I was over looked & was the underdog when he first hit the scene, from trap musik to now his sucees has increased, not decreased. He album sales went up, he had the highest selling album last year, movie premiered @ #3, he’s doing commercials with D earnhart jr, he’s argubly at the pinnicle of his career, of course the hardcore fans are gonna rather him not to dumb down his lyrics, but from a buisness point he’s doing the right thing. With his new single getting alot of spins, I don’t see how his career would decline anytime soon.
