  31. Joe 88 Says:

and besides, where else would you have been able to post that lame video?

^Which one??? Cause the first one is sub-par & the 2nd one is just trash

  32. QuezStyle Says:

    Joe,
Bmore has a better rap scene than DC’s non-existent one. And even still Bmore rappers put out some straight trash. And as far as local music I’ll take go-go over club music anyday.

  33. HIPHOP101 Says:

^Can’t really argue with you there, but all of the rappers down here aren’t trash (comp, bossman, me, etc)

    >And as far as local music I’ll take go-go over club music anyday.

^You can’t be serious??? Go-Go hurts my ears, but your from D.C (so i assume) so you like go-go more than club anyway. If coldplay is the reggaeton slasher then i’m the Go-Go slasher

  41. QuezStyle Says:

    Joe…
U cant be serious about Bossman being a good rapper…some of his ish is just straight whack…

and forget the go-go discussion (cuz no one outside of DC and PG like it anyway) but u know you need to admit that club music is just horrible

  42. Jamz (THE REAL) Says:

@Eskay – That BCC joint is tight! It’s gotta be one of their tightest releases in years! I’m glad to see the crew is back and reppin thing right!

The New Your Shit is straight! Busta should do a posse remix featuring all of the greats like Slick Rick, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, etc….kinda like “We’re All In The Same Gang” movement the Westcoast did a few years back!

Busta did say he has several coastal remixes for the South, West and Midwest dropping as well!

  43. HIPHOP101 Says:

    QuezStyle
    co sign, bossman is trash

everyone was lovin the butt and when salt and pepper did it’s you thang with eu, i uses to love go go back in the days but now its trash.

    —————————-

    ….Mullyman aint bad….

  45. QuezStyle Says:

hiphop u right.. back before my generation got their hands on go-go, it was original and good. Now its just suob-par remixes of sub-par songs with a couple exceptions, like RE’s Linkin Park remix and them helpin out on Pimpin All Over The World

  46. jaystar Says:

there’s actually alot of really good baltimore rappers out, there’s brown f.i.s.h., golden seal, skarr akbar, EJ, unreal, comp, ogun, shellbe raw, clayway, d.o.g. there’s some hot cats from bmore. dc’s hip hop scene sucks, it is totally overshadowed by go-go, but it’s a better town to hang out in most def, but baltimore is about to blow up soon.

  47. Joe 88 Says:

^How can you compare which one is the wackest if there both wack??? I don’t like neither one but if i’m in the club & i had to choose i would perfer club music anyday. In B-more club music get the bitches going & to Quote a great man (the G.O.A.T) “niggas want what the bitches want” & if club music is what the bitches want when they in the club then that’s what i want when i’m in the club. I been to mad clubs & that shit would be dead as fuck, soon as you put on some club music the party instantly start jumping (anybody that partied down B-more can Co-sign)

^Skar akbar is tight money, comp is tight, & Shells Be Raw is my wifey (let me stop) Clayway is wack (my homeboy knocked him the fuck out for hitting his sister) D.o.g is sub-par, & i’m unaware of the rest of them dudes

  50. Joe 88 Says:

    Where are you from jaystar???

  51. QuezStyle Says:

Joe i guess it all depends on where you are…cuz Go-go sets parties off the same way in DC. I just dont excpect Bmore to blow anytime soon…but really what do i know?

  52. nBmore Says:

  54. Joe 88 Says:

    >I just dont excpect Bmore to blow anytime soon…

^The sad part about that statement is I agree with you. Maybe next year or 2 years down the line but not right now.

  55. nBmore Says:

Didnt YAYO smack the shit outta swissbeats at busta video shoot?
    RUMORS!!!!

  74. the green eyed bandit Says:

  80. Miss L Says:

How u going to bring new york back recycling an old Diamond D track
and saying Swizz Beats produced it? thats lame, the track might be slightly
different than the original at best

Guess thats another reason new york isnt going to out shine the south anytime soon

  81. Miss L Says:

correction – saying Scratch produced it
WHOEVER its a recyled old track

  82. skinnykennyp Says:

bustas cd is ass. camron put out the only half decent major release outta new york in like two yearz.

  83. Demiks Says:

Slick Rick the only one with more chains on then Buss in that video.

  84. SliMM13 Says:

    I’m on my M-I-A shit.

  85. real talk Says:

they should’ve had Diamond D in the video since they jacked his beat.

  86. ExclusivelyNYC Says:

What’s going on? Some people actually think NY will not have it back, when the southern music is monotnous and one dimensional. Every southern joint ive heard has been complete garbage and they speak on the same thing. Yung Joc – “chewin like a piece of bubble gum” and thats a new joint. Now can somebody agree that if they are puttin their music out like that, that Ny should at least hold somethin down to take this fad out of the scene. Because its truly destroying hiphop and now the industry has no choice but to put that crap out. So im on my NY SHIT!!!!! F*** the South!!! Yung Joc, Young Jeezy, Juvenile, Rick Ross, D4L, Franchize, Sean Paul (lol), the shoulder lean dude, and the list goes on and on..learn your history before its history. We need real artists! For the sake of hiphop and its existance.

  87. ExclusivelyNYC Says:

I like how Busta used his hands when he said “take a new york trip” like he refering to the south. I hope so, because this song got me emotional, and brought me back like the true hiphop should be. Fuck gettin drunk and dancing, real dudes dont dance, especially by themselves. So F*** the South! To the millionth power!

  88. C Love Says:

It always amazes me how many ppl post on blogs and other message boards about Baltimore Hip Hop, yet…..OBVIOUSLY KNOW NOTHING!!! SEEMS LIKE SOME FOLKS JUST LIKE TO NAME DROP TO MAKE THEM SELVES SOUND KNOWLEDGEABLE TO PPL THAT AREN’T EQUIPPED TO ARGUE WITH YOU.

BOSSMAN IS A GREAT MC…..STOP HATIN! ITS ONE THING TO NOT LIKE AN MC ( HIS NAME, STYLE, CONTENT, BEAT SELECTIONS), BUT HE DOES NOT SUCK – YOU CAN’T SAY THAT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE.

SO AS A BALTIMOREAN…YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY (imo) TO REP WHO YOU DO LIKE….ITS ALL BMORE. WHERE IS THE PRIDE?

PLUS….HE IS SIGNED….SO SOMEONE (WHO KNOWS FAR MORE THAN BOTH OF US ABOUT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY) SEES HIS POTENTIAL AND MARKETABILTY.

I can tell that many of the POSTERS ON THIS BOARD AND MANY OTHERS have never been to a show or purchased a CD within the last year by the “jewels” they call themselves droppin. iF YOU WANT TO STAY IN THE LOOP SO YOU CAN COME ON HERE AND TALK INTELLIGENTLY…PLEASE CHECK OUT MY BLOG OFTEN: http://WWW.ITSBALTIMOREBABY.COM

Unless you are in the trenches…… you know nothing about the plans that are underway. BALTIMORE HIP HOP’s SCENE IS SHINING RIGHT NOW – YA HEARD ME!

    DID Peep this:

    http://www.citypaper.com/music/story.asp?id=12046

    http://www.citypaper.com/music/story.asp?id=12048

    http://www.citypaper.com/music/story.asp?id=12047

WE ON OUR BMORE SHIT RIGHT NOW…..WE ARE A CITY OF WORKING CLASS PEOPLE…..IT TOOK US SO LONG TO GET IT TOGETHER CAUSE MOST OF THE PPL HERE WORK EVERYDAY….LOL! EVEN FEWER KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER (WHICH IS SO ESSENTIAL TO MAKING A REGIONAL…NEVER MIND …..NATIONAL BUZZ), BUT THAT TOO IS CHANGIN. FOLK ARE LEAVING THEIR JOBS AND GETTIN ON THEIR GRIZZLY!! I AM ONE OF MANY THAT IS COMMITTED TO MAKING IT WORK.

YALL REMEMBER HIP HOP WHEN IT WAS ABOUT LYRICS AND RELAYED AN EXPERIENCE UNLIKE YOUR OWN- THAT IS BMORE MUSIC. ITS RAW, PASSIONATE AND REMINICENT OF HIP HOP PRIOR TO THE COMMERCIALISM. WE DO HIP HOP HERE BECAUSE WE LOVE IT. CALL US NAIVE FOR NOT KNOWING HOW EXACTLY TO GET MONEY OFF 0F THE MUSIC UP UNTIL NOW….BUT AS WITH EVERY OTHER HUSTLE….ONCE WE FIGURE IT OUT – YALL IN TROUBLE.

I PERSONALLY WANT THE REST OF THE WORLD TO RESPECT BMORE’S PERSPECTIVE, BUT IF YOU DON’T ITS ALL GHOOD – BMORE IS ITS OWN PLANET ANYWAY- IT AIN’T FOR EVERYONE.

Bmore Hip Hop is not what many of you may think. THAT “BODYMORE” AND “MURDALAND” SHIT IS SPEWED BY PEOPLE THAT AREN’T PART OF THE MOVEMENT. WE KNOW THAT THAT SHIT PERPETUATES THE LIES THAT HAVE MADE PPL THINK THIS CITY ISN’T WORTH RECOGNITION……THAT CRAP SCARES PEOPLE. WE AIN’T EVEN ON THAT! LOVE IS IN THE AIR RIGHT NOW. PEOPLE ARE GIVING BIG LOCAL SHOW (300+ AT MY LAST)…..ARTISTS ARE GETTING SPINS IN REGULAR ROTATION….ARTISTS WITH FAN BASES ARE COLLABORATING…..WE HAVE NICE VENUES FOR OUR SHOWS…..THE MEDIA IS STARTING TO EMBRACE US MORE (ON A LOCAL AND NATIONAL LEVEL) AND WE ARE FINALLY REALIZING WHAT THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOWS….BALTIMORE IS ONE OF THE REALEST PLACES ON THIS EARTH….WE GOT OUR OWN LINGO, SWAGGER, TASTE AND MIND STATE….DON’T COME HERE IF YOU PHONY OR SCARED TO GET DIRT ON YOUR SHOES.

BMORE – YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST – is going to blow up. MAYBE NOT NEXT MONTH, BUT WE ARE WORKIN A PLAN RIGHT NOW – OH YEAH…ITS A MOVEMENT FOR SURE!!!

Unlike before …..when folk were sitting back waiting for someone to recognize us…. ppl are steppin up (myself included) and we are progressing and making things happen DAILY. NOW THAT THOSE OF US INVOLVED ARE FIGHTING THE CRAB MENTALITY…ITS TIME FOR BALTIMORE TO ADJUST AS WELL. RICK ROSS IS NO MORE OFFICIAL THAN WYLIE MCCROY….ACTUALLY WYLIE IS MORE OFFICIAL CAUSE YOU CAN RESEARCH HIS BACKGROUND AND FIND THAT HE DOENS’T MAKE UP THE STUFF HE TALKS ABOUT. FOR EVERY SIGNED ARTISTS WHO’S NUTS PEOPLE ARE ON…..OUR HOMETOWN HAS AN ARTIST TO COMPARE.

FYI: MTV ran a segment recently about “club hop” and/or Baltimore club……that is not bmore hip hop. That is not the Bmore sound. Sorta like how ATL has SNAP (D4L/Franchise Boys) and Crunk (Lil John) and Rap (Jeezy)…we have different scenes. The “club scene” is totally SEPERATE from the Hip Hop scene. Most of us love club in the club – ONLY! We are working to bridge those gaps, but don’t think that we have lost our edge…nah!

IF ANY OF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD SAMPLING OF BMORE HIP HOP….IM SELLIN A NEW MIXTAPE (IT FEATURES THE BMORE SHIT SONG0 OR CHECK OUT DNA’S SITE (WWW.WILDCHILDDNA.COM) AND COP THAT “TRUE CRIME: HARM CITY VOL 5”

BMORE STAND THE F*CK UP!!! STOP HATERS IN THEIR TRACKS!!!

  89. C Love Says:

joe88….the boogie comment was made by COMP on “Sunglasses”

    Bossman doesn’t talk like that….

COMP is a witty rapper…he is liable to say anything. He is a character..very animated.

    Check out his song “Groupie”
