T.I.’s Entourage Involved In Shootout, 4 Wounded

ti.jpg

Early this morning as they were leaving Club Ritz in Cincinnati, T.I. and his entourage got into a confrontation with a group of assailants that resulted in what is being called a ‘running gun battle’ for 3 miles up Interstate 75.

According to Channel Cincinnati, 4 of the rappers associates were wounded and homicide detectives have been dispatched, which could indicate that some of the injuries may be life threatening. At the moment, the Interstate is shut down as police investigate the unusually large crime scene area.

The victims have been described as being three men and one woman, however their names and the severity of their injuries have not been released. T.I. himself is not believed to be among those injured.

Update: One of the victims has died

It seems like it. That’s the only difference between the rappers that are getting involved in these situations versus those that don’t. See, I get tired of rappers talking about they’re reporting what going on in the streets, as an excuse to “kick gangsta shit.” Shit, Common Sense was/is in a gang. He just don’t talk about it. My hometown is close to the Chi, trust me, I know.

Easier said than done. It’s a catch 22. When you get that type of success sometimes it seems like the best people to trust are those that knew you before the success. But at the same time, being realistic, niggas GOTTA stay strapped.

Now when you mix, liquor, weed, etc., with niggas that’s holdin heat and got bad tempers (like most niggas), those ingredients spell DISASTER waiting to happen. You can’t control a grown ass man from pullin his heat out when his button is pressed.

  19. E From BK Says:

I know it’s easier said than done, but these guys need discipline. I’m sorry, but if I am a brand I’m not letting anyone fuck up my brand. If that dude is as tough as he claims, he should have a handle on the situation. Maybe these dudes need to start employing FOI. Those guys never get into shit.

Something definitely needs to be done, but I don’t know if there’s any hope. Trust this won’t be the last gun violence situation we hear about this month alone, at the rate shit has been going. Man, c’mon, O boy down in Houston, o boy gettin shot at Hot 97, Proof, then this TI stuff? Not to mention Young Sleezy shootin it ott in Miami 2 months ago? Ridiculous.

  22. Jamz Says:

    @Foekist

I hear ya playa! Ignorance is rampid in the inner cities around this country! Some of these fools don’t realize that as a rapper you may say things that you don’t mean, and haven’t really done! It’s all about making an image, whether violent or righteous? Just because you talk it, doesn’t mean that you live it.

Fat Joe mentioned in an interview a few years ago about how he always gets tested when does shows! He knew what to expect going in, but he said he spoke with other artists like Black Thought, Talib, Q-Tip, etc. and they all stated that they don’t have that problem?? His point was, if u are talking it and not really living it, you can get killed out here?

  23. eskay Says:

Obviously I don’t know what actually went down but from the two stories I’ve read so far I got the impression that dudes ran up on T.I.’S crew and started blasting at the van, so its entirely possible that any shots they let off were in self defense. if the dudes who returned fire were security with registered weapons, than they could be in the clear. Of course that’s a big “if”

  24. Plug industries AKA the Regulator Says:

I don’t really think T.I. got like that to be throwing money into crowds anyway??

  34. E From BK Says:

I know for a fact that violence was just as prevelant back then. People in Hip Hop were getting killed and getting robbed even then. The difference then is that only “hard rocks” were doing that type of shit. Now, any bitch made fucka feels like he can rock with anybody. I think it’s the lyrics. Gangster shit was a novelty and we knew the difference between “hard rocks” and “suckas.” Now that line is blurred. It’s blurred because we have been desensitized to the violence and we let our guards down. Shit, LL used to have problems on the streets back then. He had the look, but people knew he was not built like that. What did he do? He ran with cats like Alpo to get his street cred up. Cats NEVER fucked with Rakim’s crew. Cats NEVER fucked with BDP outside of studio shit and even then them cats would test you. It’s just not the same.

  40. D. Billz Says:

It’s coming to a point where I don’t even feel sorry for these guys anymore. I mean, think about it: you never heard of M.O.P., BCC, The Wu, LOX, or the Def Squad dudes (Keith, Reggie, minus Erick though) gettin’ ran up on… and those dudes aren’t “conscience” rappers. And best believe they’re probably crew-deep whereever they go. That’s because those dudes really live the life they portray on records. Nothing is made up, fabricated, or over-exaggerated. Also, they never attempted to make another Black man feel that they’re inferior because of some corporate induced status. These guys make themselves targets in a society that’s suffering on the socio-economic scale (Blacks and Hispanics). This is something that I’ve thought about for a while. You ever notice Jada can do SMACK interviews in Yonkers, yet other rappers are doing them in a office, crib, or other location? That’s because they have established a rapport outside of the industry that was prevalent BEFORE they had a deal. To sum it up, dudes like T.I., Jeezy, and whatever else iced out, coke slinging rapper you wanna include have made themselves targets from day one. Keep braggin’ about your jewels, money, cars, hos, etc. I’m not saying that it’s right, but that’s just reality.

    Wolves can spot prey easily…

***Dr. Dre has reportedly opted to put Detox out in the summer of 2007.***

I know this is off the subject, but damn! Something has 2 be said about this over rated producer. On AllHipHop.com there is a Method Man track produced by Dr Dre that was supposed 2 b on the Detox album 2003. 3 years later we’re hearing it and that the ‘Good Doctor’ plans 2 drop Detox in the summer of 2007. Now, from listening to the Meth song, and takin in2 consideration that its 3 years old… I think I know why we won’t get Detox until 2007… Dre can’t do it like he used 2 anymore. I reckon that if Scott Storch had of remained silent on his working closely with Dre on Detox, then it might have came 2 light. Fact is, Dre can’t do it on his own. He would have dropped Detox with his name all over it if Scott hadn’t said anything. If this is not the case, why the hold-up? I mean he says he wants 2 work with his artists… how many tracks has he produced over the last while? Very little.
Sorry folks… I’m a lilttle heatedover the being fucked about…

people need to stop going to shows and throwing money or showing off their chains, is money being thrown at the crowd part of why shyne i slocked up now, years ago i saw royce in boston he was throwing money in the crowd some dude got offended crumbled it up and threw it back thenthe dude in the crowd took off his own chain and threw it and hit royce right in the face with it ( it wasnt a smart move as royce jumped off stage and cracked the dude and then dude got stomped a little and politely thrown the fuck out the club, but i mean i got love for t,i, everything i heard he was trying to be peaceful atrying to tell his crew to pack and lets g, but think about this logically your putting on a concert for a bunch in the city for a bunch of FANS who cleary dont have t.i.’s funds, theses rappers need to realize they cant just go into other people’s neighborhood and show off and disrespect them ( supposedly the money was meant to throw at the girls but you cant even allow a ghetto motherfucker to think he might possibly be getting disrespected by a rapper who he paid money to go see, yea i know mad people that would be offended if they got hit with that shit ) these rappers need to realize they cant do there video suntin at live small clubs in other cities.

obviously wish everyone the best and everyone not rappers everyone man put the guns down this shit is so dumb, you really wanna hurt someone mom/father/brother/friend/son/daughter that much.

“ooo man this motherfucker hit me in the face with money its on now, come one like i said i now people who probably would react just as dumb but is it really worth anyone losing there life because you felt “disrespected”

    @Foekist
I disagree, the music has nothin’ to do with it. If that is the case then whenever somebody shootsout with the cops we should continue to blame it on GTA games. People know right and wrong and no matter what a person says in their song dosen’t influence someone else to shoot at another person.

  67. Jamz Says:

    @Foekist

It’s phucked up, but true my man! Some black folks don’t give a damn about our people, but should they?? A lot of people don’t even care about themselves half the time. The mindstate in the community is messed up? That’s where it starts. The poorest black person can’t even get a hand when he/she is down and out in most cases! Katz drive by the homeless dude in the hood and pretend he’s not even there. We are on that “It’s all about me…I got mines, you need to get yours” mentality these days.

As far as buying the music….man, if you don’t do your homework and really check around for other sources of music & artists, all you would know is Ying Yang, 50, T.I., Cash Money, etc. That’s all the major entities pump into our eyes and ears on a daily basis. So, if you don’t know about M.F. Doom, Talib, Little Brother, Mr. Lif, Madlib, Strange Fruit Project, etc…how can you buy them?

  68. eskay Says:

I mean I’m sure that the music contributes in some way, but I don’t think it’s about the music. If there was no such thing as rap there’d still be shootouts and gun violence in the hood.

Sure you don’t hear about country singers letting off and getting shot but you do hear about little white kids going to school with 14 guns and slaughtering their whole class.

The trouble in tha hood doesen’t get no air time on news stations and all that like those mostly white schools in the middle of nowhere you here about. One of my homeboyz was killed and when he was finally on tha news they said he was a banger. He went to the store for his grandma and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. So even if we got air time in tha hood, would it be portrayed the right way by white america?

  74. Jamz Says:

    @Eskay & D Philly

I don’t think the hiphop music is the sole purpose of the violence, but it definitely is a factor! You combine ego, ignorance, guns, knives, liquor and/or drugs, and any violent outlet (music, movies, TV) and there is the potential for a serious problem! A lot of these katz in the middle of this violence didn’t have positive role models and mentors growing up, so they turn to whatever they can relate 2! If it’s the drug dealer, the pimp, the gangsta…so be it! Rap music icons have taken the place of the katz on the corner doing dirt! Violence has been glorified since to beginning of time, it’s just today it seems to be senseless.

    Worldwide BDP are the freshest!
    Worldwide! Worldwide! Worldwide!
One two three, the crew is called BDP
and if you want to go to the tip top
stop the violence in hip-hop, Y-O
Time and time again, as I pick up the pen
as my thoughts emerge, these are those words
I glance at the paper to know what’s going on
someone’s doing wrong, the story goes on
Mary Lue’s had a baby someone else decapitated
the drama of the world shouldn’t keep us so frustrated
I look, but it doesn’t coincide with my books
social studies when I speak upon political crooks
It’s just the presidents, and all the money they spent
all the things they invent and how the house is so immaculate
They paid missiles, my family’s eating gristle
then they get upset when the press blows the whistle
Of course the main profiles are kept low
you temper with some jobs, now the press is controlled
Not only newspapers, but every single station
you only get to hear the president is on vacation
But ehrm, stay calm, there’s no need for alarm
You say go back to your mom, and you’re off to Vietnam
You shoot to kill, come back and you’re a veteran
but how many veterans are out there pedaling?
There’s no telling, ’cause they continue selling
As quiet as it’s kept, I won’t go into depth
You can talk about Nigeria, people used to laugh at ya.
Now I take a look, I say USA for Africa?!
    Huh.
What’s the solution, to stop all this confusion?
Rewrite the constitution, change the drug which you’re using
Rewrite the constitution or the emancipation proclamation
we fight inflation, yet the president’s still on vacation
    BDP posse!
I say: one two three, the crew is called BDP
And if you wanna go to the tip top
stop the violence in the hip-hop, Y-O
This might sound a little strange to you
well here’s the reason I came to you
We gotta put our heads together, and stop the violence
Cause real bad boys move in silence
When you’re in a club, you come to chill out
not watch someones blood just spill out
That’s what these other people want to see
    another race fight endlessly
You know we’re being watched, you know we’re being seen
Some wish to destroy this scene called hip-hop
    But I won’t drop
    not I or Scott LaRock
Now here is the message that we bring today:
    hip-hop will surely decay
if we as a people don’t stand up and say:
    Stop the violence!
    Stop the violence!
    Stop the violence!
    Stop the violence!
    Stop the violence!
I say: one two three, the crew is called BDP
And if you wanna go to the tip top
stop the violence in the hip-hop, Y-O
    BDP and me
we step into the party top celebrity
Say when we’re coming to dance, we never have to pay a fee
Cause that’s where we got R-E-S-P-E-C-T
I have this one wife, her name is Miss Melody
I know I’m from the Bronx, she from the Brooklyn posse
I tell ya look a little like this, then I tell you some that I
Sometimes I got my gear on, sometimes I wear a hat
Sometimes I’m in a Mercedes and sometimes I’m in a plain
Sometimes I find myself upon the number two train
Some people look at me and see negativity
some people look at me and see positivity
But when I see myself I see creativity
So if I can create, well then I make some money
Sha man, just put your hands up if you’re out here gettin’ paid
Sha man, just put your hands up if you’re out here gettin’ paid

I agree with that. That’s one of the trappings of success (or at least being a celebrity), it’s always going to be someone criticizing something you do. If you a successful rapper and you in the hood heavily some people are going to be praising you for “remembering where you came from” and others are criticizing you for still being in the hood. You can’t please everybody, that’s fa sho.

  106. Smokie Says:

El Feces is right. Niggas stay in denial about the cause of the problem and focus on the effects of the problem: black men getting shot and killed behind stupid shit. They don’t have anyone to teach them any differently. THAT’s the damn problem.

Thats real talk. I was at church and the preacher was like some people you just can’t save. No matter what you say they wont listen. I think that goes for (SOME) adults, not kids. If you have an opportunity to lay some knowledge on the youth you have to do it no matter how one feels. Also if you get yours without triing to give to others carma will get you in the end anyway. But what did the white guy poppin the singer have to do with any thing?

  109. tyronebiggums71 Says:

E FROM BK – VERY GOOD PICK AND THATS PART OF THE PROBLEM TODAY KIDS ARENT LISTENING TO SHIT LIKE KRS AND BDP THEY ARE LISTENING TO SHOOT THIS AND SHOOT THAT, AND WHILE I DONT BELIEVE ANY MUSIC CAN MAKE ONE MORE LIKELY TO KILL KEEPING MUSIC IKE KRS AND BDP AWAY CAN HELP TO STUNT GROWTH.

HERE SOME MORE FOOD FOR THOUGHT TO HELP THE KIDDIES GROW ( O YEA THIS IS WHY WE GET SO PISSED AT THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY AND WHY GOOD POSITIVE RAP GETS PUSHED TO THE BACK )

    Self-Destruction, ya headed for Self-Destruction 2X

    [KRS-One]
    Well, today’s topic, self destruction
It really ain’t the rap audience that’s buggin
It’s one or two suckas, ignorant brothers
Trying to rob and steal from one another
You get caught in the mid
So to crush the stereotype here’s what we did
    We got ourselves together
so that you could unite and fight for what’s right
Not negative ’cause the way we live is positive
    We don’t kill our relatives

    [MC Delight (Stetsasonic)]
    Pop pop pop
when it’s shot who’s to blame?
Headlines, front page, and rap’s the name
MC Delight here to state the bottom line
That black-on-black crime was way before our time

    [Kool Moe Dee]
Took a brother’s life with a knife as his wife
Cried cause he died a trifling death
When he left his very last breath
Was I slept so watch your step
Back in the sixties our brothers and sisters were hanged
    How could you gang-bang?
I never ever ran from the Ku Klux Klan
and I shouldn’t have to run from a black man
    cause that’s

    Chorus

    [MC Lyte]
Funky Fresh dressed to impress ready to party
Money in your pocket, dying to move your body
To get inside you paid the whole ten dollars
Scotch taped with a razor blade taped to your collar
Leave the guns and the crack and the knives alone
    MC Lyte’s on the microphone
Bum rushin and crushin, snatchin and taxin
I cram to understand why brother’s don’t be maxin
There’s only one disco, they’ll close one more
    You ain’t guarding the door
so what you got a gun for?
Do you rob the rich and give to the poor?
Yo Daddy-O, school em some more

    [Daddy-O, Wise (Stetsasonic)]
Straight from the mouth of Wise and Daddy-o
Do a crime end up in jail and gotta go
Cause you could do crime and get paid today
And tomorrow you’re behind bars in the worst way
Far from your family, cause you’re locked away
Now tell me, do you really think crime pays?
Scheming on taking what your brother has?
You little suckers.. you talkin’ all that jazz.

    [D-Nice]
It’s time to stand together in a unity
Cause if not then we’re soon to be
    Self-destroyed, unemployed
The rap race will be lost without a trace
Or a clue but what to do
Is stop the violence and kick the science
Down the road that we call eternity
Where knowledge is formed and you’ll learn to be
    Self-sufficient, independent
To teach to each is what rap intended
    But society wants to invade
So do not walk this path they laid.
    It’s

    Chorus

    [Ms. Melodie]
I’m Ms. Melodie and I’m a born again rebel
The violence in rap must cease and seckle
If we want to develop and grow to another level
We can’t be guinea pigs for the devil
The enemy knows, they’re no fools
Because everyone knows that hip-hop rules
So we gotta get a grip and grab what’s wrong
The opposition is weak and rap is strong

    [Doug E. Fresh]
This is all about, no doubt, to stop violence
But first let’s have a moment of silence
    *Fresh beatboxes*… swing
    Things been stated re-educated, evaluated
THoughts of the past have faded
The only thing left is the memories of our belated
    and I hate it, when
Someone dies and gets all hurt up
For a silly gold chain by a chump; WORD IP
It doesn’t make you a big man, and
To want to go out and dis your brother man, and
You don’t know that’s part of the plan
Why? Cause rap music is in full demand.
    Understand

    Chorus

    [Just-Ice]
My name is Just-Ice a man not a prankster
I was known… as the gangster
But believe me that is no fun
The time is now to unite everyone
You don’t have to be soft to be for peace
Robbin and killin and muderin is the least
You don’t have to be chained by the beast
But party people it’s time I release!

    [Heavy D]
    Aiyyo here’s the situation: Idio[di]cy
Nonsense, violence, not a good policy
Therefore we must ignore, fightin and fussin
Hev is at the door so there’ll be no bum-rushin
Let’s get together so we’ll be fallin apart
I heard a brother shot another. It broke my heart
I don’t understand the difficulty, people
Love your brother, treat him as an equal
They call us animals mmm mmm I don’t agree with them
I’ll prove them wrong, but right is what your proving them
Take heed before I lead to what I’m sayin
Or we’ll all be on our knees, prayin

    [Fruitkwan (Stetsasonic)
Yo Heavy D, deep in the heart of the matter
The self-destruction is served on a platter
Makin a day not failing to aniticipate
They got greedy so they fell for the bait
That makes them a victim, picked then plucked
New jack in jail, but to the vets they’re a duck
There’s no one to rob, cause in jail you’re a number
They never took the time to wonder about

    Chorus

[Chuck D, Flavor Flav (Public Enemy)]
Yes we urge to merge we live for the love
Of our people the hope that they get along
(Yeah, so we did a song)
Getting the point to our brothers and sisters
Who don’t know the time (boyyyee, so we wrote a rhyme)
It’s dead in your head, you know, I’ll drive to build
And collect ourselves with intellect, come on
To revolve to evolve to self-respect
Cause we got to keep ourselves in check
    Or else it’s…

I’m still confused, bro…. I was responding to that comment, my question was how does throwing money in the crowd register as a gesture of charity?

    —————————————
If someone is throwing money in the air it’s more charity then when giving it to an organizaton, you know refund on your taxes.
Damn i don’t get this shit really.
It’s sound to me that you are saying that by throwing some money in the air , thats a reason to shoot at someone

  115. Shanti Says:

I don’t see what the big deal is about throwing money in the crowd. I live in the A and it’s something that just about every rapper does when he performs in a club down here (whether he has it like that or not). Some of you are acting like TI took a stack and slapped somebody in the face or something. When someone throws money out in the club down here its just a status symbol like rockin an iced out chain or some shit. Its not meant as disrespect and I have never seen anyone get mad down here when money is thrown into the crowd. Perhaps rappers don’t do it in Cinn and that is why folks got mad but they obviously misunderstood the meaning behind throwing the money out. Like said already posted, its stupid to kill over disrespect especially when those feelings aren’t even founded.

niggas been throwing money in crowds since i can’t remember niggas act like it the first time and its “disrespect” that shit is just as much a staple of rap as the hoes picking up the money…niggas shouldn’t get hurt of that acting like they got hit wit bricks in the face
    ———–

Well it depends on HOW they were hit with the money. If it just fell from the air and plopped on your head, ain’t no reason to get mad. But if I was in the front row and them niggas SMACKED me in the face with some money, like, “BITCH, I’m RICH, you bitchass fan-ass nigga!” It would be a different story. With my temper I might be chasing that got damn van too.

  117. Foekist Says:

^^and in that case, you’re right, it would have NOTHING to do with rap music, but EVERYTHING to do with me wanting to karatesize TI lil ass.

I was trying to use that to illustrate that we (us as blackmen) have so bought into this streotype of ourselves as being savages that we now accept the fact that we aint shit and we ignant and we will pop off at any minute..its not just blacks doing it but we now beleive what the media says about us..once was a timeniggaz would be like “naw hip hop aint why that happened” now we more acceptive like “yo niggaz is savages”..we been brainwashed and bamboozled..most of the post on here is in “whats wrong with niggaz”mentality..I was trying to show that violence on a whole is a societal issue not a hip hop issue.

THAT bein said at the same time..i do live amongst savages..I refuse to let them take me down with them..I have no time to preach to niggaz that listen to 50 cent and think gettin shot is cooler than goin to college..why should I waste my time on that shit?..niggaz is so far brainwashed that I am now in the section that says “imma get mine you get yours”..I give up on us as a race

@FOE..im jamaican 29 yrs old I been in america since 1986..Hip HOp love started for me when I heard the show by doug fresh slick rick..I wa sdoin the roof top barefooted…I love this music…you gotta understand people from different countries dont put the same value on what americans do..Ask yourself what does a man value when he is willing to strap 20 lbs of C4 to his chest and offer his life for a cause…what would you die for? your car? your house?…niggaz dying is not what i have issue with ..niggaz dying for nothing is the sad part.

DEATH IS PROMISED..Id die right now for you all if I knew it would make a difference but it wont..so Im not dying for no dumb shit..Im on my own..yall on ya own.

I’m sick of showing gratitude and niggas not appreciating a helping hand. I only help those who want to help themselves. I’ve always been the knowledge seeker and continue to expand my horizons daily. The only friends that are in my circle think the same way I do. Though our opinions vary on many perspectives, we still have a common goal in being better Black men. Self-destruction is prevalent all around us and it doesn’t seem it’s getting better. People don’t believe that our race can become extinct but it’s not far-fetched. It’s gonna take something far more drastic than a hurricane or rappers getting shot to wake us up. Recently I was researching info and found out that during the Million Man March in ’95, crime went down drastically for the next 2 years. I think that’s amazing if you ask me. I don’t know what happened between then and now but the love is gone.

madeinmilwaukee>>>>> can’t blame TI or any other rapper for people being easily influenced. that shit got to start at home with parents instilling values and morals. Rappers should not be raising our children, parents should.

WHAT ABOUT THE NIGGAS THAT DON’T GOT PARENTS OR THE ONES WHOSE PARENTS DON’T GIVE A FUCK? WE GOTTA DO THIS AS A WHOLE IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK. WE DON’T NEED TO BE RAISED INDIVIDUALLY, WE NEED TO BE AS A COMMUNITY.

DOG YOU CANT MAKE IT A RAPPERS RESPONSIBLITY TO RAISE AND TEACH TODAYS YOUTH AND THATS WHERE OUR PROBLEMS IS ( PEOPLE ACTUALLY LOOK AT THESE GUYS AS ROLE MODELS AND TEACHERS AND THERE REAL PARENTAL AUTHORITIVE FIGURES AINT NOWHERE TO BE FOUND, ITS NOT THE RAPPERS FAULT THEIR KIDS BEING RAISED BY THEIR MUSIC, I WAS RAISED N HIP-HOP BUT I WAS LUCKY AND HAD BOTH MOM AND DAD AROUND TOO INSTILL THE PROPER VALUES IN ME AND TEACH ME HOW TO BE A MAN, YEA HIP-HOP MAY HAVE A NEGITIVE INFLUENCE ( BUT NOT ANYMORE THAN VIOLENT MOVIES OR VOILENT DEATH METAL SCREAMING RAPE KILL DIE DIE DIE ) THE PROBLEM IS THAT PARENTS DONT TEACH THEIR KIDS WHATS RIGHT AND WRONG NOWADAYS AND PEOPLE ARE LOOKING TOWARDS ATHELTES AND RAPPERS AS ROLE MODELS PARENTS OR GAURDIANS NEED TO EXPLAIN ITS ALL ENTERTAINMENT

DAMNS TARIAGHT HOMIE I MEAN I KNEW MAD PEOPLE WHO GOT ROBBED CAUSE OF HOW THEY FLASHED THE SHIT I ALSO KNOW A COUPLE DUDES WHO STACKED WAY MORE THAN EVERYONE ELSE BUT NEVER FLASHED ANYTHING AND DIDNT RUB SHIT IN THEIR FACE AND THEY WERE NEVER TOUCHED. BUT WHEN SOMEONE WOULD RUN AROUND FLASHING THEIR MONEY AND BEING STUPID ME AND ALL MY BOYS WOULD LOOK AT IT AS AN OPPURTUNITY TO MAKE US SOME EASY CASH ( I STOPPED THINKING AND ACTING LIKE THAT YEARS AGO BUT STILL KNOW PEOPLE LOOKING FOR THE FLASHY TYPE DUDES TO STICK UP )

The music DOES play a role in this shit. Just like our eco-socio position in Amerikkka does, just like the education system does, just like the penal system does and just like all the isms and schisms do. I used to think that it is “just music”, but then I had to be honest with myself. It was “just music” when people like Gaye and Marley were rockin’, it was “just music” during the Sugar Hill days and yes, it was “just music” when Rakim, PE and BDP helped the genre evolve. The difference is that back then there was “variety.” For every NWA (CB4 by the way. The only “G” was Eazy) you had BDP, Tribe, King T or PRT. These days it’s almost as if the percentages have flipped the opposite way. I think the death of “quality” Hip Hop started with the advent of the music video. Image became more of a factor and since sex and murder sells people started focusing their lyrics more to those images. Fast forward to 2006 and people are still intrigued by the images of sex and violence. Those kids that were born to young girls are now raising themselves and the television and radio are now their parents. They get a little older and believe all the bullshit they see and hear and bam! They go around taking shit waaaay to personal and wind up wilin’ out behind dumb shit. Shit, I got three homies right now, all have a 25 with an L and them cats are prime examples of that shit. All of ther bravado led them to killing people where it was not necessary and now look.

No doubt SD. I live in Atlanta now and one night I was in this pretty affluent area where there are very nice homes. I saw these kids doing dumb shit and being disrespectful to some adults in the area. I pulled up next to them and kicked it with them for a few. As I was talking to these kids from this affluent neighborhood I realized these kids were reciting their favorite rappers bullshit. I’m not talking about their songs, I’m talking about the bullshit they give you in the interviews. I started feeling real bad for these young people. I started thinking about the bullshit I had to deal with growing up as a manchild in BK and how I wished I lived in some shit like they live in. Don’t get me wrong, my moms was not broke, but damn, you have to see how these kids are living. These kids have every advantage I wish I had, but are out there pissing it away. They were complaining how the cops fuck with them all of the time, but when I asked them about why, they didn’t seem to get that they were drawing attention. Those fuckin’ Flatbush police used to fuck with us on gp! I just wish this shit would stop. I start thinking about my own daughter and I wonder about what her plight will be like when it comes to finding a suitable mate.

I wonder how much it had to do with regionalism (repping your part of the country) as is so common these days. Mac Dre got shot to death on the highway in Kansas City – Bay music is big out there and he had been going out there acting like a boss, like he was in the Bay. Supposedly there was some beef and some of the KC rappers decided they were going to prove a point about KC. TI is “the king of the South” – there are a lot of hard luck cities out there that just aren’t having it with out-of-towners flaunting their success. Hartford CT is famous for testing rappers at club shows. Dip Set got rushed on stage in Philly.

  302. Ricky D Says:

    @ D. Billz

I don’t know what started it but supposedly Cam and Juelz stayed on stage while Freaky and Jim Jones jumped over the barrier and fought it out with some locals. It wasn’t like Dip Set took a loss, just like “show’s over everybody, move towards the exits!”

The Pittsburgh show was the one where supposedly the Dips had run off with someone from the Burgh’s money, they were supposed to do a hook or something on some local dude’s song. So they were dumb enough to go down there a few months later like everything was all good, and I doubt the crowd heard a note of music (*Mike Tyson Punch Out sound effects*)

FYI: I don’t care much for Dip Set.

it’s kinda hard to see who’s who but in the begining, before it really pops off, you can clearly see Jimmy trying to jump into the crowd and someone holding him back. Then when it pops someone jumps off the stage right into the mix.

I KNOW T.I. HAS “FELONY CHARGES” AND SHIT SO IT’S SMART TO STAY CLEAR OF THE “STREET” DRAMA, BUT IN ALL THE NEWS HEADLINES THAT I’M READIN, IT KEEP SAYIN T.I. THIS T.I. THAT, BUT NOWHERE IN THE ARTICLES DOES IT ACTUALLY MENTION T.I.’s INVOLVEMENT IN SHIT

  341. eskay Says:

  347. DEEZ NUTS Says:

WHERE WAS T.I. AND YUNG JOC WHILE EVERYBODY ELSE WAS GETTING SHOT UP? WHY DIDN’T THEM NIGGAS HIT ANY OF THE CINCINNATI NIGGAS WHEN THEY SHOT BACK? IF THESE NIGGAS ARE SO GANGSTER, WHY CAN’T THEY SHOOT WORTH A SHIT? I BET T.I. AND YUNG JOC WERE LAYING DOWN LIKE THEY’RE THE PRESIDENT WHILE EVERYBODY ELSE WAS GETTING SHOT UP. IF THAT WAS MY CREW, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO DIE FIGHTING FOR THEM BEFORE I LET THEM BITCHES GET AWAY WITH THAT. IF T.I. WAS SUCH AN ASSET TO HIS LABEL, WHY DIDN’T THEY HAVE THE PROPER SECURITY INSTEAD OF SOME NON SHOOTING ASS NIGGAS WITH HIM? THATS LIKE IF I GO OUT WITH ANY CHIC IM COOL WITH AND SOMEBODY TRY TO ROB US, THEM MUTHAFUCKAS JUST GOTTA KILL ME BEFORE I LET THEM DISRESPECT US. THEM PSC NIGGAS SHOULD HAVE PEEPED T.I.’S CARD AFTER THAT PUNK’D INCIDENT. THAT WAS THEIR CUE RIGHT THERE. T.I. DIDN’T GIVE A FUCK WHO WENT TO JAIL AS LONG AS IT WASN’T HIM. THEM NIGGAS LIVES ARE JUST AS GOOD AS HIS.

  351. DEEZ NUTS Says:

  354. A-town Veteran Says:

Had to come back and comment on this one. It’s sad that some haters dunn tried the A-town up in Cincy. King TIP up there trying to show niggaz love in a hood type club when he got the fastest selling Album of the Year, he could of been in some white folks arena or something. We don’t know how the shootout went down on an expressway 2 vehicles against 2 other vehicles. Aint no tellin who busted shots and who was duckin’. But its amazing that he could of got a bullet-proof van for $80,000…to shield off hating ass niggaz like this. But we all know how this gone play out:

10 Cincy niggas coming up missing…

  355. TYESHA Says:

  356. HardcoreRockoNly Says:

Rap is for fools that wish they were cool…the shoot out happened cuz the gangsters felt like shooting people there crazy…thats why there names is Antwon
