    fuck, number two.

i thought they did a reunion a while ago. was it filmed a long time ago?

  3. The Landlord Says:

…more wu chronicles?!?!…good look eskay…about time for some in-depth discussion about the greatest rhyme cartel in hip-hop history…the most influential producer(RZA) in hip-hop history (ask Kanye, ask JustBlaze, ask Arsonist from the Heatmakers)…the Wu-tang clan almost singlehandedly changed the way hip-hop cds were produced…from their use of original slang..skits and interludes…repeated use of aliases…clothing lines…producing film scores…these men are responsible for more trends and innovations than….any other hip-hop group in history, period…SUUUUUUUUUU

  4. BEASTNIGGA Says:

what about outcast? same thing now even bigger. stankonia.

  5. buscoliti Says:

I’m glad a dumb nigga didnt write 1st
all you highschool kids stop writing 1st and 2nd. It shows your maturity

  6. The Landlord Says:

..outkast left their mark lyrically(but not on wu’s level) and visually…but musically, i dont think too many people on a national or international level are checking for any old or recent outkast beats…wu-tang clan are gods worldwide…true story…

  7. The Landlord Says:

…if im not mistaken, ghostface alone has put out as many full-length albums as outkast…and better ones at that…no disrespect to Outkast…

everytime i see a brand new topic i try to write and submit something quick just so those first people get heated.

beast – im a huge outkast fan but dont ever say they have ever been anywhere near the wu’s level. the wu was the original movement.

and landlord that shit your saying about rza is mad hilarious ( you werent by any chance in jersey city the other night listening to me and my boys talking about the same exact shit you were just saying. we went out to the club the came back to my boys to continue the after party and at like 5 6 in the morning me and my boys are yelling and screaming about who is the best and most influential producer and no matter who was thrown out it always came back to rza and premo. i was saying the same exact shit you just said though about

this particular part of your statement

the Wu-tang clan almost singlehandedly changed the way hip-hop cds were produced…from their use of original slang..skits and interludes…repeated use of aliases…clothing lines…producing film scores…these men are responsible for more trends and innovations than….any other hip-hop group in history, period…SUUUUUUUUUU

your not mistaken at all. they have the same amount of studio label releases and supreme clientel and ironman are 2 of the best in hip-hop history ( but to be fair so are some of outkast but their best one cant see ironman or even supreme clientel

  11. Darth Cipher Says:

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUU… cmon baby baby, cmon baby baby, cmon baby baby CMOOOOOOOOOOON, you best protect ya neck!!!

no doubt outkast is my favourite group from the south man, but when it comes to hiphop in general the Wu are Gods hands down, those funny old school kung fu skits… now be honest, how many niggas here when listen would make them same sounds with the tracks playing???… those that dont co sign that are liars *wutah, pow, chah… you tihnk you can face my wu-tang sword style???, chah, pow wutah AHHH!!!…* see what im saying thats some gold baby

  12. BEASTNIGGA Says:

10x plat. fuck wit that. let alone the movies. not straight dvds. movies wit substance and base. wu don’t even record no more. i’m not a big outcast fan but i did see they did something diverse like wu. i’m happy for all the niggas. now if detroit can stop wit tha rap war. i’ll be proud to use them as a example. but the way it looks not anytime soon.

  13. Darth Cipher Says:

lets not put down outkast i mean, there music was southern hood at its best… “nigga you need to git up git out and git something”… i loved that song , so inspiring to take my ass off the couch and do something with myself you know

  14. reggaetonslasher Says:

outkast is overated, how did they get mentioned

  15. buscoliti Says:

outkast is nice they not overrated, one of the best groups of all time. But not where the wu is.

Plug – you probbaly dont even have your ged yet.

  16. BEASTNIGGA Says:

outkast is overated, how did they get mentioned

    by me. heres whos overrated.
    shyne
    cassidy
    fabulous
    lupe fiasco

    none will be a legend

  17. The Landlord Says:

..to me, Elevators was outkast’s last GREAT song…they’ve had good shit since, but i just aint feeling them (no homo) like everyone says i should…

here you go with your lies again.
ghost just released another album reakwon is coming out soon
o yea they are in the process of recording another wu album they started the process right before odb died

outkast is the shit real talk but cant fuck with the wu on there worst day

  19. buscoliti Says:

    how do you know?
Did anyone know hov was gone be a legend when he dropped Doubt?
what about when kiss verse got into the game?

Ok fab is garbage, not that he can’t spit he just corny and phony.
    Lupe is not overrated
    Shyne only dropped 1.5 albums
Cass is phony but can spit only on mixtapes and dvd’s

you dont really know too much about hip hop do you?

  20. BEASTNIGGA Says:

greatest group of all time. run dmc.

no group will meet they accomplishment or success.

don’t rock the bells. rasie hell.

  21. Darth Cipher Says:

ok lupe is not overrated, dudes bringin a new face of hiphop, thats well needed(i know pharell was doing the skateboard image but he sold out of the skater land and gets no respect from skaters anymore)… lupe is what hiphops needed and for sure he’s gunnabe a force to recken with…

ok outkast have had many good tracks B.O.B., slum beautiful, ms. jackson was straight goods, off the new album, unhappy, love in war, happy valentines day, flip flop rock, tomb of the boom… they’ve got some good tracks man

  22. D. Billz Says:

TMI… it feels good outside today. One of those warm, breezy days where you leave the bathroom window open while takin’ a deuce.

Anyway, yo, I remember when Ol’ Dirty dropped his debut joint… yoooooo, the whole fuckin’ 8th grade class (that’s how old I was at the time) went nuts! Just picture a whole cafeteria of some lil’ B’more nukkas reciting Brooklyn Zoo word for word. And for some reason, every time we went to the auditorium, some nigga would SWEAR he could do the Shimmy Shimmy Ya beat on the piano.

Damn, those were the good ol’ days.

  23. BEASTNIGGA Says:

i know enough to know that sells in one region don’t make you a legend.
i was in hip hop probably before you was born. this shit new to you.

i ‘ll name some niggas on here from new york to cali ,from chicago to florida that been in tha game a long time and still got doe. some a legend some not. you referring to a new breed.

  24. Darth Cipher Says:

i dunno if i agree with run dmc being greatest group of all time, they were very influential and have good songs, but they werent hiphop changin and didnt bring a new face like the Wu did(yes im comparing those two)… no disrespect to run dmc though, with there my addidas and walk this way… they broke some molds too, the best hybrid track known to man is “walk this way”

  25. BEASTNIGGA Says:

the only molds they broke was how they shot videos. thats all. no group can do what run dmc did because its already been done. it was like breaking the color barrier.

  26. D. Billz Says:

People don’t understand how strong the Wu was when they appeared on the scene. To be honest, it was almost a democracy in hip-hop because Wu was saturated EVERYWHERE: radio, videos, the streets, and underground. Wu-Wear, wallabees, Wu jackets, hoodies, Kung-Fu movies. Did you know how much the sales went up for Kung-Fu movies just doing that era along? Mofos who produced those movies couldn’t even believe it. I’m not takin’ anything away from Outkast, but you gotta remember it was 9 members of the Wu PLUS other sub-groups: Wu Syndicates, Sunz of Man, and the lil’ dudes that Shyheim the Rugged Child belonged to (who by the way had a ill-ass debut album).

From like 93 to 99, those dudes had one of the strongest runs in the game… period.

  27. BEASTNIGGA Says:

i agree. but once meth went solo it seemed like everthing they put out couldnt compare. still good but no tical.

  28. D. Billz Says:

Oh yeah, can’t forget Killarmy, G.P. Wu (that’s the group Shyheim belonged to) were the lil’ dudes. Oh shit, and lets not forget Gravediggaz!

  29. eskay Says:

Thats funny ya’ll brought up ‘Kast…Beast were you creeping in the Field Mob thread cuz me and these niggas in there been going at it since last week about Kast vs. Wu. I suggest you guys go check it out for a good laugh.

careful though, its almost 600 comments deep.

what ya’ll niggas know about 6 times platinum threads? Can I get my plaque? A nigga ’bout to go Diamond!!

  30. BEASTNIGGA Says:

all now dyfunct. what did that prove. i got a good one for you if you come back

  31. uneckbone Says:

anyone who doesn’t respect wu wasn’t old enough to listen to the radio during there time. whoever said they were a monolopy was absolutely right. they changed the way I listened to hiphop. and i just realized i never even checked out the field mob thread, this should be good.

  32. uneckbone Says:

man it took forever for that video to load, but i finally saw it. shit, this doc looks off the hook.

  33. TYRONEBIGGUMS Says:

thats whatsup d.billz bringing up my boy shyheim i actually copped his new album not too long ago ( he just got out of doing a bid ) the new shit is real hot but its not up to the standards of “the lost generation”

damn no one ever mentions shyeim this has me almost as excited as when i heard someone on here talking about ali vegas and sleepy eyes.
there are other serious hip-hop fiends out ther besides me

i agree. but once meth went solo it seemed like everthing they put out couldnt compare. still good but no tical.

tical was one of if not the worst solo wu album.

    top 5 wu albums

    1) liquid swords
    2) ironman
    3) 36 chambers
    4) only built for cuban linx
    5) supreme clintele

tical not close, meth has always been one of the best in their groups and defintely the most charsimatic but his solo albums were pure trash and cant come close to the others

  36. uneckbone Says:

omg biggs, i can’t believe you brought up shahiem. i haven’t even thought of that name since my early teens. i’m about to make my boy go to his house and search for it. damn, you people bring back some fuckin memories.

    did ODB ever show?…

  41. G Off Says:

I’ve got to back up Beast on this one. OutKast > Wu. Not taking anything away from the Wu, but Kast had too much great music and consistently raised the bar in hip-hop, while Wu came out strong and has slowly declined over time (except for Ghost). Wu definitely made a huge impact with the things that were mentioned, but just because they had clothing and aliases doensn’t mean they can touch OutKast with the music.

    ^^^^

    i resent that !!!

  43. TYRONEBIGGUMS Says:

G-OFF – IF YOU WERE STRANDED SOMEWHERE AND YOU COULD ONLY TAKE ONE CATALOG WU OR OUTKAST WHO YOU TAKING?

BEING THE FIRST TO HAVE THE CLOTHING LINE THE INFATUATION WITH KUNG-FU ALL THAT SHIT DOESNT MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO THE MUSIC BUT IT DOES WHEN IT COMES TO INFLUENCE AND WU WAS DEFINTELY MUCH MORE INFLUENTIAL ( CHECK OUT ASIANS THEY STILL BE ON THE WU’S DICK ) OUTKAST GREATLY IMPACTED THE SOUTH AND HIP-HOP BUT NOT NEAR THE LEVEL WU DID, WU LAID THE GROUND WORK FOR THE HOLLYWOOD TRANSFORMATION THE LABELS THE CLOTHES ( WHO WASNT KEEP IT GRIMEY AND GULLY LIKE WU BACK THEN SHIT THEY STARTED THE GRILLS THE ONES WITH THE FANGS )

PLUS IM SORRY ILL TAKE THOSE TOP 5 WU ALBUMS I MENTIONED OVER ANY OUTKAST ALBUM AND SOUTHERNPLAYERISTIC CADILACMUSIZ IS MY FAVORITE OUTKAST ALBUM BUT CANT TOUCH LIQUID SWORDS IRONMAN OR 36 CHAMBERS

  44. BEASTNIGGA Says:

once again young lad you wrong. gold teeth been a fixture. they just expanded on it wit tha fangs. they do clothes also, produce, restaurants, jewelry collection, dog breeding, movies, and look at they new acts.

every ga nigga owe it to them. they kicked open tha door. still making music and bring out artist relevent to today. yall niggas talkin about killa army, shayheim, gravediggarz. all good back then. now gone .

    you know why?

they have no audeince. the fans don’t recognize them. which equates to booty sales. i love my new york niggas but yall done had ya day.

even ghost and rakim cant revatilze the dead heart beat of the city.

time to pass tha torch biggum

  45. TYRONEBIGGUMS Says:

DOG THE STATE OF HIP-HOP TODAY DOESNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS CONVERSATION. ITS WHO HAS HAD A BIGGER IMPACT AND ALSO WHOSE CATALOG OF MUSIC IS BETTER AND I HAPPEN TO BELIEVE WITHOUT QUESTION THE ANSWER IS WU TO BOTH OF THEM.

    AND RAKIM ISNT IN WU

ALSO THE TORCH SHOULDNT BE PASSED THINK ABOUT WHATS COMING OUT IN 06

    NAS
    LOX
    JAY-Z
    JOE BUDDEN
    SAIGON
I KNOW IM MISSING SOMEONE OR 2

BUT ANYWAY ITS A GOOD LOOK FOR NY/NJ THIS YEAR HOMIE

  46. BEASTNIGGA Says:

everbody needs hope. 3 of those you named won’t 600,000. count on it.

look at fat joe. lean back the song of the year but don’t even hit gold.

biggum, you gone want to murk them niggas in atlanta . laffy taffy killin ya best artist. ain’t that funny.

  47. G Off Says:

Ty, I live in the Northwest, so I feel like I have a fairly objective viewpoint on these arguments (since no one in my area has ever broken out). I usually side with NY rappers, but I have to think that the Wu influence is pretty regional. It never was as big out here- not taking anything away from them, but it just wasn’t as big an influence. Aquemini is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time (5 mics when it meant something).

As with most arguments, this is strictly personal taste, but I would take Southerplaya, ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia, and Speaker/Love to a lesser degree over the Wu catalogue. I’m sure if I grew up in the middle of Wu mania it would be different.

  48. G Off Says:

But, D4L isn’t gold either Beast. Who has sold the most out of the South in it’s last run? Jeezy did 1.6ish mil, Mike Jones (if you want to claim him) did 1.2ish, Wayne is at 750K, Yin Yang is at 3 something, Slim Thug didn’t go gold with the Neptunes helping, 3-6 went gold… these aren’t huge numbers at all.

I’m arguing specifically OutKast over Wu, not South over North.

  49. BEASTNIGGA Says:

i’m not argueing north or south baby, i come wit this. even though tha wu did format hiphop. they thru. outcast is more accepted in white homes for one. people where scared of the wu when i was coming up.

to push records take relations. case in point. nelly. 9x plat. they don’t look at him as a threat. let tha wu come back out talkin about wu tang clan aint nothin to fuck wit. and we gone cut ya head off. protect ya neck and all that shit.

see where they sales be. we live in the times of brittany, paris, chris brown, jessica simpson now. str8 bullshit commercial pop.

  50. G Off Says:

    I agree Beast

  51. Per Says:

Wu-Tang is nationwide I don’t know what you heard…I’m in Seattle and me and all friends get down with the Wu. Outkast definitely deserves their dues, but Wu-Tang was on a level of their own.

  52. Dumb Nigga Says:

shit i’m from the Midwest and back in the day i was bumping Wu-Tang, i’ll give Kast they respect, i liked southernplayalistic, but i dont even think Kast can be compared to Wu-Tang, for one Wu had 9 members and Kast only had 2 members

  53. BEASTNIGGA Says:

but who checkin for them in seattle? i thought yall niggas like grunge and coppin that new nirvana shit. pearl jam and creed greatest hits. when you ever heard a motherfucka from baby london checking for hip hop? name one artist you got?

thats probably why you yaself personally look at the wu. 15 years a lil late playa.

  54. eskay Says:

I disagree with that Wu scaring people shit, cuz the Rapper We Don’t Speak of did huge numbers on some animal thug shoot you up shit before he crossed over to R&B. White people love all the violence and intimidation as much as anybody, maybe even more so.

  55. TYRONEBIGGUMS Says:

wu is loved by white kids and even more so by asians man. who do you think bought all the wu-wear shit man white boys in the burbs loved wu everyone loved wu yea maybe it wasnt as big in certain places but ny/nj eveywhere you went you heard wu in the 90’s they had shit on lock like no one else ever will.
