Video: Papoose @ S.O.B.S. – The Aftermath

Remember when I posted my review of the Papoose show at S.O.B.S. and I mentioned that there was a little shit talking incident followed by some trash talk and a minor scuffle? Well here’s video of the incident from about when Pap finishes his set and Kay Slay does his little dance.

Someone emailed me this earlier, and I forgot to watch it, until I saw it on Jay Smooth’s site (via Straight Banging) and remembered about it. While Jay pretty much just posted it for review, Joey at SB seems to think that Pap and Slay were in the wrong for their reaction. Go to either site or the Youtube page to read the mic grabber’s personal account of the incident.

Now, in a perfect world, Pap and Slay would’ve ignored dude and let security handle him, drama would’ve been avoided, and we all would have went home happy little Papoose fans. Of course this isn’t a perfect world, this is a rap show at cramped ass S.O.B.S where audience members, artists, and artists entourages alike are tanked up and rowdy.

If I was going to talk to this guy I’d have to ask him what in the hell would posess somebody to go to a show like this, grab the mic and rant about stopping the violence? Seriously homey, I know you saw the 20 hardcore brooklyn dudes on stage, because you mentioned them, so what would make you think you’re gonna talk shit to them and then walk out of the venue like everything’s candy and you’re Willie Wonka?

Was it an ignorant situation? Maybe. Surprising or out of the ordinary? Not even a little bit. I’m curious though, now that you can all see for yourselves what went down, who do you think was wrong in this situation?

that shit was hilarious. how retarded can you be? you got a song like hustle hard. probably one of papoose’s well known harder songs. the crowd is going crazy wanting more. dying to hurt somebody. and you go and say ” whats up with the violence and drugs” i hope they beat the shit outta him. homeboy needs a lesson.

  2. e-dubbs Says:

dude definetly didnt pick the best time to say what he said but in reality he was right.. why be so quick to use violence against your own but not the oppressor?

  3. eskay Says:

    >>why be so quick to use violence against your own but not the oppressor?

like that’s Pap’s message? dude obviously isn’t familiar with his lyrics so he would’ve smart to keep his mouth shut. now he looks like an idiot and he nearly caught a bad one.

  4. Doofstix Says:

wow real gangstaz…shiverin in my boots…these rappers are fugazy, wouldn’t make it 3 blocks in the hood…

  5. uneckbone Says:

not the right place to raise awareness.

  6. uneckbone Says:

i love how kay was making fun of snap music.

  7. Jacob Says:

You fellas should see the new piece Jacob is working on for Papoose. It is crazy. The timepiece is reversible and turns into a pocket watch.

  8. uneckbone Says:

    post a link

  9. eskay Says:

Incidentally, that site Pap shouts out, XS Magazine, is pretty fucking dope. They do video podcast interviews and features with artists. I believe it’s a paid service but if you subscribe to their RSS feed they have a bunch of free content, no promo.

    http://feeds.feedburner.com/XsMegazine-VideoPodcast

Good stuff, but for whatever reason it won’t play on my video ipod…

  10. Omo. Says:

The kid’s got a point. He just chose the wrong time to make it.

  11. Adam Says:

yeah good point WROONG place and time.

  12. The Truth... Says:

That dude should have just kept quiet….what was he doin there in the first place?! Agree with Omo….but Pap tryin to start a carrer and feed a bunch of niggaz. You can’t go there and make him look bad or take some shine away…of course they gonna shut you down quick fast…word.

Dumb move…..and KaySlay was tellin people to chill…..

  13. The Cipher Says:

i think we can all agree that he makes a valid point, and that he picked the wrong time, i mean why you gunna go to a show with Papoose and “the drama King” Kay Slay and announce stop the violence, dudez crazy and musta been smoking crack, i just hope security took care of it and no one split his wig while he was out of the building…

  14. fletch Says:

At this rate, Papoose has 10x more youtube links than he ever will albums.

  15. MADDENMASTER Says:

THAT WAS A POINTLESS ASS VIDEO……. PAP LIKE A PRETTY BITCH THAT CAN’T FUCK…. DUDE GOT TALENT BUT NO SWAGGER, HE’S SO FUCKING LYRICAL THAT HE’S KILLING HIS FLOW!!!!

  16. cklhiphop Says:

well… why is Kay Slay diss “snap music” all of the sudden? he puts out mixtapes with snap music on there… is he dissin the dance or something? and drama king wants no violence and NO No NO? haha… he is funny now…

  17. skitso Says:

FUCK ALL DAT, FOR THOSE THAT THOUGHT 50 AND MOBB GONNA FLOP WIT IT

    BLAOOO!!!!!

  18. e-dubbs Says:

snap musik = good.. who cares what kay slay says.. that snap dance is the harlem shake 2k6. anyone ever see the dude from NY with the video talkin bout tone wop dance? that shit is fiyah!

  19. jersey Says:

yeah he’s entitled to express his peace offering but wrong place wrong time…lol…he blew everybodys high….rap is a art and an expression of ones social element. obviously he was out of his element trying to impose his opinion and beliefs on folks that were enjoying themselves. yo i believe he was high no doubt……if you cant handle the content then go the other way……duke should be counting his blessings cuz he couldve gotten seriously injured, 4real…lol

  20. E From BK Says:

Did he think he was going to a PM Dawn concert? I’m tired of the bullshit going on in Hip Hop as much as the next guy, but come on. Would he roll up to the White House and call out the President for all the violence he is responsible for? Hell no! They would be on his ass like stink on shit! I’m feeling Duke for his positition, but there are better ways to get your point across. The pen is a mighty sword!

  21. Hulk Hogan Says:

Pap should just go jello wrastling instead…with me.

  22. AGeezee Says:

    ^^ I was looking for a no homo after that comment…. Hopefully you’re a female….???

  23. VESYBNVS Says:

in a rational world, dude would be right…but most of those dude on stage were under 21, tanked up, plus AMPED up from that PAP perfomance; just waiting for something to pop off.

  24. tyronebiggums71 Says:

first off can i just express how much i FUCKING HATE KAY SLAY, ok damn i feel better now that i got that out, honestly both sides were wrong. i mean yea this guy didnt really do anything wrong but he has to be borderline retarded to make those comments at that point and time with a hyped crowd around him ( im surprised he didnt get stomped by the crowd hard ) but pap and slay really should of ignored dude, i mean what were they trying to prove with the lets take this outside you people here know i fuck with pap but come on calling a dude out to the blacktop at 3 o’clock thats some shit, this dude obviously posed no threat so just let him be or atleast stomp him the fuck out right there if your gonna do something and threaten dude at all might as well follow through

  25. joe 88 Says:

    i hate kay slay also.

  26. Hulk Hogan Says:

No real man should have to say no homo.

  27. eskay Says:

Not for nothing, but what Pap told dude in no way implied violence.

  28. tyronebiggums71 Says:

^^^ except for the lets take this outside? i agree it wasnt a real threat he wasnt gonna do anything at all i just tink it was an unessecary comment but who does get caught up in the moment every now and then and say some dumb shit ( shit i got shitty as hell saturday and ran my mouth like crazy to some dude cause i was drunk and in a semi heated move, i realize it was dumb but i got caught up and thats what happened to pap )

but really the bottom line is the dude from the ATL. was asking to get somped out for what he did where he was at, i mean if someone came on my corner talking like that to most of my boys they wouldnt hesitate to say stop the violence this motherfucker and proceed to stomp him out

  29. KonishiwaBitches Says:

i hate Kay Slay remind me of them old ass, past they prime think they the shit, never shut the fuck up niggas……..

  30. tyronebiggums71 Says:

^^^ sorry had to cut my self off boss was coming to look at something, now im not saying that my boys would be right and i would just just step back and laugh at this dumbass for being that dumb, but i mean if my boys are all amped and pissy drunk or some shit they arent gonna hesitate theyd take that shit as a personal insult that you have to talk to them like that

  31. eskay Says:

it wasn’t even a threat though Biggums if you understand what he was saying.

  32. Rav Says:

Lenghty article on your secret lover

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/21/AR2006032100101.html

  33. tyronebiggums71 Says:

i know eskay but i just think they shouldnt of even addressed the dude the should of just cam’ed him, let dude look stupid and leave him to deal with the rest of the crowd

  34. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

I get tired of cats from new-york downing the south over a song. The reason that guy made the comments about “stop the violence” and “demonic murder shit” is because alot of music from the south is feel good music, like “Laffy Taffy”… we don’t spend all our time rappin about killing, shooting selling crack…so the guy was taking up for the music that was born from his city. Hence the “ATL” comment…The answer to Laffy Taffy is not more crack and kill music. It should be more good music. That goes for all regions from young jeezy to juelz santana. I’d be more impresses if cats rapped about how they used to use crack then sell it, atleast that shows growth. But I digress, for I too bump jeezy and everything else, but what else does hip-hop have to offer…Kanye, common, roots and a couple others i failed to mention, can’t do it by themselves… Props to “Three 6” for grabbing that oscar and bringing it home. Memphis 4 Life

Somebody need to take lil’ kim’s five mics and give them to Kanye…cause there’s no F’in way your gonna tell me her album is better than Kanye’s.

  35. eskay Says:

    >>we don’t spend all our time rappin about killing, shooting selling crack…

and then in the same breath you say you listen to Jeezy? I don’t know what ATL you’re taking about, but I hear plenty of crack and gun music coming from the ATL I know. Didn’t Gucci Mane body one of Jeezy’s boys? I’m just saying.

  36. tyronebiggums71 Says:

Somebody need to take lil’ kim’s five mics and give them to Kanye…cause there’s no F’in way your gonna tell me her album is better than Kanye’s.

^^^^ THATS THE TRUTH BUT REALLY MICS ARE MEANINGLESS NOW ANYWAYS

as far as down south music is feel good music, i wouldnt say down south doesnt rap about killing, shooting, and selling crack, when in fact all you have is trap musik the snowman black mafia family i mean listen i actually like all these people and groups but they are all violent sure laffy taffy isnt but thats not even close to hip-hop thats on some black eyed peas type shit, now i agree with alot of what you said and dont want to pick a fight but to me it sounds like your saying as a whole down south music is generally more positive than music from the northeast and if that is what your saying then i have to strongly and respectfully disagree

  37. tyronebiggums71 Says:

damn eskay beat me to my main point on that one

  38. strong chef Says:

^ u got a point, but when was the last time having any mic’s meant something…

and if u ask me it seemed like pap was confused, at 1st he was all ra ra, then kind of toned it down

and sorry if I offend anybody (especially from the south) but snap music is GARBAGE!!!

  39. D. Billz Says:

Still laughin’ @ “everything’s candy, and you’re Willy Wonka”… lol.

  40. KingML Says:

This is akin to walking up to a Nazi rally grabbing the mic and saying “come on guys lets give the jews a chance!”

Then walking away cheering to yourself like you just did the world a favour.

You know the SS is going to put boots to your head, don’t act like you didn’t know.

  41. KonishiwaBitches Says:

^^^^nazi rally? you could’ev found a better comparison than comparing a papoose performance to a nazi rally…there a few stan that are gonna take offence to that on this site

  42. D. Billz Says:

I think KaySlay did a good job as the mediator and preventing dude from ending up on a one-way trip to Bellvue. But on the other hand I think he gassed it from the jump and realized that what he did was out of protocol when you got rowdy dudes in the place. I agree with everyone else who says that dude did make a valid point. But I also agree that you have to pick and choose your battles CAUTIOUSLY. One rule of war is to never be caught alone on another man’s turf unsheilded. Sloman couldn’t have saved his ass that night. People need to understand that you can’t have one without the other. Snap music must co-exist along with the hardcore, northeast grit. Why? Becuase both represent the culture in some shape, form or fashion. Even though most lyrics are exaggerated, a good artist exemplifies his culture and mentality which is molded by his upbringing and surroundings. Do guys in the South moreso go to strip clubs and glorify women? Yeah. And that’s part of the snap music culture. The South has always been known as a more warmer, friendlier, and respectable atmosphere though they have thugs and gangstas like every other state. Do guys in the Northeast moreso veer towards the cold, hard streets? Yeah. And that’s part of the Northeast culture. A region where it is literally cold weather for most of the year. Where the people are less friendly and more self-indulged. And definitely where hip hop is taken more seriously being that it birthed the genre. People have to take all these things into consideration when asking why certain people react differently to certain things. The West can’t solidify a position like it used to because of lack of unity. Set-trippin’ over who rolls with whose gang has caused a hiatus on the Left coast [look out for my niggaz NameBrand and G.I. though, straight outta Cali and nice].

People need to realize that though we are all Black, we are all different. We come from different upbringings and are molded by different surroundings. Are ethics and morals vary slightly depending on where you’re from. And for the record the Midwest (mainly The Chi), a city with no particular identity, are birthing all types of artists with different styles and different perspectives on life: Kanye, Common, Twista, Lupe Fiasco, Bump J, Rhymefest. All dope artists who are also successful. Isn’t that what hip hop used to be in general? When you could have dudes from the same area but all on some different shit (i.e. Jay-Z, Mos Def, M.O.P.)? If we could get back to that era and have a balance in our music then maybe things would be better for hip hop. But overall, lets keep the Message in our Musik. The struggle aint over…

    *B More Nubian*

  43. D. Billz Says:

    Correction: *Our ethics and morals…*

  44. uneckbone Says:

contrary to what everyone else says. people look for different things from hiphop. your always gonna have violence, drugs, and street life on the hood side, and your always gonna have awareness on the other side. to go to a kanye show, grab the mike and say “all this backpacking bullshit has to stop, we need to bring it back to what it was”, even at a positive concert like that, you would run into shit. the man was an idiot. not only for opening his mouth at a hyped crowd, but for going at someone who not only brings the hood onto his tracks, but also brings alot of awareness. he was just trying to get his 15 minutes, and was lucky that 14 of them weren’t him getting stomped out.

  45. D. Billz Says:

    Lol @ uneckbone. True dat.

  46. eskay Says:

    well said neckbone

  47. teebabysowhat Says:

I totally agree with neckbone statement I couldn’t have said it better myself. Kind of off topic but I just want someone to answer the question of what’s wrong with having dreads just because you are from ATL? like do you have to be from a certain area to legitimately wear dreads? did anyone else catch that statement at the end or am I just hearing things

  48. eskay Says:

    >>what’s wrong with having dreads just because you are from ATL?

good question. that was a pretty idiotic statement from Kay Slay

  49. tyronebiggums71 Says:

^^^ yea but again what statement does slay make that isnt idiotic????

the only thing i have ever agreed with slay on is that pap is nice but i disagree that slay should be his biggest supporter cause in all actuality i think running with slay only hurts pap and will make it harder for him to branch out of the mixtape rapper label, but he is way more than that, very few actual drops substance and rhymes of value in mixtapes but pap defintely does

  50. Hulk Hogan Says:

    Hulkster likes that laffy taffy…

  51. eskay Says:

^ indeed he does. we need a Chuck Norris alias on here.

  52. uneckbone Says:

@tyrone, i do think that kay was very helpful to pap. the first time i heard pap was on a sunny mixtape hidden in a bunch with 3 songs. nonetheless, if kay didn’t put him out there, i wouldn’t have heard it. its hard to catch talent when there are so many people out there. kay put him through to alot of people. i think kay slay is fuckin horrible. i used to get around a descent amount as a dj. and i loved the art. but i hate what he did to the title DJ. all he does is promote music. he’s more a&r than anything else. but he definitly helped put pap on. he did the same with 50. not nearly as much, but he pushed him. although i do agree that pap needs someone who knows the industry alot more than he needs kay. he has put out alot of songs on mixtapes that will qualify as hot 97 songs, and he’s done the most of them recently. he just needs someone to show him how not to be dismissed as a mixtape rapper, and i think kay will only pull him back.

  53. The Cipher Says:

the first time i heard of pap was on talib kwelis joint “the beast” which i tihnk pap proved his lyrical skill very nicely and from there i went on to find out more bout the dude, and when i found out he was rolling with kay slay, first thing that came to my mind was dudes bigger then kay slay… yeah he’s getting alot of publicity cause of the mixtapes but in all honesty if he didnt have kay he’d still make it, maybe not as fast but im sure we’d of all heard bout him through a smack dvd or even from 50(im sure you’ve all heard 50 wanted to sign him, if im not mistaken, correct me if im wrong people) i tihnk for the fury pap has and kays rep as an instigator(the drama king) pap should move on from him, but pap looks to loyal to his helpers to do so

  54. Luis Says:

Hey, let’s say g-unit happened to do the same dumb shit as kay and pap did, I wonder what would be the outcome of the thread hahahahaha

  55. E From BK Says:

Feel good music? Has Stephen gone mad? I live in the “A” and the reason I don’t listen to the radio is because everybody raps about being in the trap. Everybody is a damn pimp! Everybody goes to their trunks ’cause, “they ‘aint never scared!” The same way they talk about that shit in Cali, they talk that talk in NY, they talk that talk in Houston, they talk that talk in Florida and they damn sure talk that talk in the “A.” What’s with this Holier than thou stuff? Don’t think people from other regions don’t understand the slang. We know why they wear them white tees. The South is just like every other region, mired in “demonic murder shit.”

  56. The Cipher Says:

man all this talk bout feel good music makes me wonna play some rick james, james brown, temptations… now thats feel good music(do you think you love me mary jane?!?!) cmon how can you not like that stuff

  57. D. Billz Says:

Why do they wear those white tees? @ E from BK

  58. eskay Says:

^ yeah, I’m curious about that too…I know why they wear em in NY but please elaborate..

  59. The Cipher Says:

hey E from BK… get your info knowing ass back here and let us know what your talking bout… or we’ll take it you just said that without the knowing and diss you later on

  60. teebabysowhat Says:

that’s another good question why do they were them in new york? white tees that is

  61. teebabysowhat Says:

    yeah I meant wear..ha ha

  62. E From BK Says:

Come on guys. In NY if you are wearing the white tees it’s a part of the jail garb that we have adopted over the years. As for the “A” it’s a part of the uniform. The same way Bloods wear red and Crips wear blue. That song told you why they wear the white tees. Don’t try to play me!

  63. eskay Says:

honestly I don’t think I ever intentionally sat through that song for more than 30 seconds and if I did, I damn sure wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics

  64. Jeliza Says:

Eskey the only person who looked like an idiot was K-Slay, big ole
blood-clartt man should know better then to try and embarass some one who is speaking the truth. He knew that but felt shame so came out with those lame put down.

  65. uneckbone Says:

hey eskay, did you hear anything else on papoose signing to atlantic? i’m assuming he’s under violator management since he shouted them out recently, but i haven’t heard anything else on a deal.

  66. eskay Says:

nah, me neither. I’m about to call their PR dept.

  67. ted danson Says:

I still can’t believe that Kay Slay is DEZ from Style Wars. How does one turn from a quiet, artistic teenager into the brash, bloviating asshole he is now? Simply amazing.

Alright guys, I gotta run. Howie Mandel is on a coke binge and we’re trying to talk him down from a balcony. Later.

  68. eskay Says:

^ the ted danson alias is the best

  69. NYC Says:

  78. Papoose"says" Eskay Get off My DICK! Says:

Get Off my Dick!!!!(I Don’t Like Dudes)

  79. eskay Says:

Not talking to NYC, cuz I don’t acknowledge 12 year olds, but honestly I wouldn’t care if Pap went triple wood, I’d still listen to his shit over 50 anyday and that kills these Stanleys.

  80. biggumskiller Says:

  82. The Cipher Says:

*Wu-Tang Is Forever Motherfuckers* – just how ol’ dirty would say it… pap is gunna do some big things for nyc no doubt, he’s alright got a nice public eye on him and his still managing to keep a steady flow… i just wonna see him come out from the underground and take a nice hold of the rap charts…

  83. The Cipher Says:

hooks dont make you a good rapper… verses do… hooks make you a good club rapper, hence 50s success, we can all remember his hooks, but shit after that its like “what did that nigga say, another i’ll shoot you?! get back to the chorus please”… and you know thats real

  86. HOLLYHOOD THF FUTURE OF AFTERMATH RECORDS Says:

I’M SICK OF HEARING ABOUT PAPOOSE.

  87. uneckbone Says:

    then go to another thread.

  88. Ricky D Says:

So it turns out the guy who pulled this stunt is a friend of a friend… I met him a couple times… can’t believe he pulled this but it actually seems like Slay et al correctly determined that he was just wilding out on some outer space shit and they didn’t need to do more than yell at him. Also he should give thanks to the security who kept him from catching a bad one from anybody else.

  89. Demiks Says:

    >> why is Kay Slay diss “snap music” all of the sudden? he puts out mixtapes with snap music on there…

Which ones? I think your seeing things that weren’t there.

  90. DC's Ridah Man Says:

this is why NY rap sucks and aint going nowhere. Yall bamas get hype over a fucking rap song?? ARe u serious? the joint couldt have been that hard..yall niggas need to come to D.C and hit a live Backyard go-go and see how niggas really get rowdy…and u probably will see a nigga getting his shit split to tha white part

  91. tyronebiggums71 Says:

ny rap sucks get the fuck outta here homie you suck you wouldnt know good music if the cd smacked you up side you ignorant skull, ive got mad people in d.c. im always there and first off dudes do play ny music down there so you must be lonely with that thinking and second we know you dont step outside in d.c. cause if you did would get smacked stupid just for being so fucking dumb

  92. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

I feel you ESKAY and TYRONEBIGGUMS, but my point is this, laffy taffy is not that big of a deal, but then again it is. It seems since the south is finally breaking through, and New-york is not on-top andy more, alot of new-york rappers wanna shit on us… When we weren’t gettin any airplay, and for the most part when southern music was local, we didn’t give a damn about what was going on in new-york…we were makin music for us…but some New-york rappers seem so desperate to claim that throne, that they gotta shit on us. But them same artist were calling Lil’ john for a beat not to long ago…so when I hear Kay Slay say he gonna slap a nigga for doing the laffy-taffy dance, thats some bullshit.Thats like me saying i’m gonna slap someone for doing the harlem shake or cripwalking…as far as the “kill and crack” music comments. I made that comment to solidif

y the grounds on which the “ATL” guy made his comment. Plus, I said even I listen to jeezy and other music, please read the quote:

“the answer to Laffy Taffy is not more crack and kill music. It should be more good music. That goes for all regions from young jeezy to juelz santana(ie ATL to NY). I’d be more impresses if cats rapped about how they used to use crack then sell it, atleast that shows growth. But I digress, for I too bump jeezy and everything else, but what else does hip-hop have to offer these days…”

To be honest I feel like lot of eastcoast rappers didn’t want to mess with the south, until the public demanded it. There was always a south-west connection..but after the crunk-era…everybody wants that southern-influeneced club record… Why they gotta shit on us?

  93. eskay Says:

    DC’s Ridah Man,

You cant be fucking serious. Go-go? that shit is glorified snap music, say it aint. if you niggas are down there getting amped off of that shit then ya’ll got bigger problems than us. and you act like the drama on that video had anything to do with the song, get a grip.

why is everybody on NY’s dick so hard? First the fat boys break up now everyday I wake up…I got here some hate towards the foundation. I think Kay Slay is a dick, but he has a point. If I’m in NY and I see some clown ass niggas snap dancing, I’ll feel like smacking them too.

  94. eskay Says:

    Stephen,

I hear you, but I don’t know why Southerners think we never fucked with yall up here. Back when rap was just rap and it wasn’t all regional, I fucked with plenty of down south shit. I still do. If you look you’ll see I just posted the new T.I. joint a couple days ago.

  95. tyronebiggums71 Says:

stephen let me agree and elaborate on eskay response, we dont have anything against the south ( even ghostface and saigon like mad dude from the south ) but we hate laffy taffy dem franchise boyz and all that, we also het ny trash the problem on both sides is ny cats group it all as “the south” and the south groups it all as “ny” when its all seperate cause believe us there is trash in ny too, but dancing like laffy taffy is gonna get you smacked up at any concert, shit you think jeezy or t.i. would of done anything different if a dude was doing that laffy taffy and grabbed the mic saying ” why’s it always gotta be violence, cant we stop this demonic murder shit ” what do you think they would of done???

people in the south need to stop being offended everytime one of their groups is made fun of and people up north need to stop refering all southern music as that ” dirty south “

  96. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

    eskay,

I don’t mean to sound like an ass-hole, but do you want an award?

I commend you for playing our music, but when I speak of the north, i mean in a general since, not individuals. And I know first hand cats wasn’t fuckin wit us…I was born and raised in the south, and then moved up north at 16. I’ve witness people litereally shit on crunk/buck/bounce music, and then only a couple of years later, when the music became hot, they were dancing in the club to it. I remember when they was callin us slow and shit like that. We I was down south, we neva did shit like that. Now every nigga wanna “Stay Fly” “Pop they Collar” and “Get Crunk”. So when we finally broke that barrier, 4 alot of people down south it was bittersweet. And the crazy thing is, we are all the same…trap or block…

go-go not that bad, It worked for Amerie, even Ludacris maded a go-go remis and its been around for a minute, ever since chuck brown..he’s like a legend in dc. Its live music, however I wish they would write more of their own material…They re-did and Ashley Simspson song, and made it hot. “Pieces of Me” by Rare Essence…If you ever get a chance, hear it live. Music like this comes across as real, the lead vocalist is really sounds like she speaking from personal experience…but if u dont’t it get u don’t get it…Link: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=54523241

see here is the thing the majority of the people up north STILL dont fuck with any crunck/buck/bounce/snap music, we like t.i. jeezy, outkast, scarface, and others but i hate lil jon and the eastside boys ( now will i listen to a lil jon beat with someone like luda on it hell yea but the eastside boys could never be heard from again if you ask me. thats the shit we hate just like we hate the poppy club shit that 50 makes and others up north or in the midwest make we just like real hip-hop not snap/bounce/crunk or whatever that shit still isnt respected as real music up here but as long as people realize the whole south isnt like that then the shit will be all good but you are the one who said you speak in general when talking about the north but thats just stupid homie, that would be like us saying all the south is trash because of laffy taffy or dem franhize boys, stop generalizing it doesnt work

  98. eskay Says:

    >>see here is the thing the majority of the people up north STILL dont fuck with any crunck/buck/bounce/snap music,

basically. personally I could care less what anybody from the South thinks about what I like and don’t like. I love me some ‘Kast and T.I. and Bun B but I’m a New York hip hop head to the death and if all of them dudes retired tomorrow, believe me I’d live.

  99. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

word… I feel u, my bad on the generalization, put it on me venting…give that go-go link a try… no malice towards eskay either, big fan of the site.

  100. eskay Says:

    it’s all love homey

  101. tyronebiggums71 Says:

yea no doubt homie, neither me or eskay well get on you for voiceing your opinion as long as your rational, you make sense and your respectful about it and of course as long as you dont sound like you have 50 or camran’s dick in your mouth while talking.

    so its all good stephen

  102. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

yeah…cam’s playin himself as of late. between j not responding and that ole’ ass rucker tape, killa season might mean the death of his career. as they say back home cam’ kill yoself. I know this doesn’t relate to this forum, but what’s ur take on the game, eskay/biggums…outside of the g-unot onslaught, wouldn’t you agree that he’s becoming much better MC than you thought he would be.

  103. eskay Says:

^ we’re in the middle of a heated argument about that in the Game thread right now, come on in.

    http://nahright.com/2006/03/21/game-covers-up-his-butterfly-tattoo/

  104. tyronebiggums71 Says:

YEA STEPHEN – I USED TO HATE GAME WHEN I FIRST HEARD HIM I WAS WONDERING WHAT ALL THE HYPE WAS ABOUT, THEN I HEARD DOCUMENTARY AND WAS LIKE DAMN THE ALBUM IS DOPE DAMN NEAR CLASSIC, BUT STILL WASNT SOLD, BUT HE HAS STEPPED UP DRASTICALLY I SAID IN THE OTHER THREAD HE ISNT RAPS MVP BUT DEFINTELY M.I.P. ( MOST IMPROVED ) AND I AM ACTUALLY REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DOCTORS ADVOCATE, HE HAS BEEN KILLING THE MIXTAPES LATELY. AND I REALIZE GAME IS CONFUSED AND A FAKE ASS THUG BUT I JUST WANT TO HEAR GOOD MUSIC

  105. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

    word

  106. Stephen C. Lynn Says:

word…he definitely got some issues to iron out, but u could tell from the get go he wouldn’t fit in g-unit. In there interviews together he just kinda stood around. He wanted his own spotlight, and not have to fight over being in 5o’s shadow with the rest of g-unit. I’m pretty sure Rosemond was grooming him for that, he was probably trying to cultivate a 2nd pac in his eyes. But i’m glad he did leave, thats a couple of less name drops we have to hear. I feel him on the situation with his brother, even though family should always try to work things out, but how long can u let people eat off u…his brother should be tea-bagged by a homeless person, for making those comments though. Til 6/6/6

  107. uneckbone Says:

congrats on a platinum papoose thread eskay, i personally was really hoping this one wouldn’t die out. tired of gunit threads getting all the spotlight.

  118. lone Nigerian Says:

    2 questions

    1. Who was filming this?
    2. Did this dude really make a difference? Yeah we’re all talkin’ about him but is anybody really gonna change the type the music of they’re makin b/c of what he did?

also we’ve been hearing “stop the violence in hiphop” for awhile but it still hasn’t stopped. WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP? Are all these rappers really that enslaved to money that they’re willing to continually turn a blind eye to all the ish that is happening. If money is really that much better than integrity than I need to start sellin’ out right now.

  119. lone Nigerian Says:

***Are all these rappers really that enslaved to money that they’re willing to continually turn a blind eye to all the ish that is happening?
