Kanye: Jeezy’s Album = 5 Mics

kanye_jan_06.jpg

There’s a Kanye interview over at AHH today. These are always good for a chuckle. In this one he proclaims that Jeezy’s album deserves 5 mics, that the Governement should want to protect him rather than hurt him, and that he doesn’t write down his rhymes just like another famous Roc-a-Fella M.C. He also says he has no problem with 50 Cent and that people are blowing their statements out of proportion.

Any album that…if you can walk up to a person on the street and they can quote a line from a song on an album that’s not a single, that album should potentially be five mics. Obviously Young Jeezy has a five mic album, because it’s apart of the culture right now, and it has impacted. My last to album impacted the culture. That’s what I feel like is the bottom line. What was the impact, what changed [as a result of an album]?

i luv kanye but im starting to think he get high or something

  3. eskay Says:

And if that wasn’t bad enough, peep the Sean Price Interview from yesterday.

AllHipHop.com: Who do you think will be the person to look out for in the New Year?

Sean Price: No cocky s**t, but look out for me. I don’t really like too many cats out there. It ain’t because they talk about drugs or guns, because we all do. Papoose and Young Jeezy are nice.

  4. Joy Says:

Who is the rocafella MC he’s talking about? I know dude ain’t attacking Jay, cause as much as I don’t like Jay, I can’t deny he’s a gifted emcee.

Kanye’s album deserves THREE Stars AT BEST in my opinion. That’s one of the most overrated albums of last year just because of his smash hit single “Gold Digger” (that I wasn’t even feeling much anyway, I just got used to it). That album AIN’T TOUCHING his debut (that deserved 5 mics imo).

  5. Manuel Says:

To quote Ice Cube: “Stick to producin”

  6. eskay Says:

Joy, yeah I was talking about Jay, but Kanye wasn’t attacking him, he was just saying claiming that he doesn’t write.

  7. DEEZ NUTS Says:

I understand his point about Jeezy impact on the whole movement right now because he does have the youngin’s under brain control right now but Kanye know damn well that Jeezy aint making no powerful musik.

How about Royce? Everybody claims to be such hip hop heads these days, and nobody throws a mention at the independent god Royce Da 5’9″. He’s the greatest to EVER come out of Detroit, and very well could be the greatest rapper of all time.
