Ludacris on Oprah

luda_oprah.jpg

So I caught that Oprah episode with the cast of ‘Crash’ last night and I am now inclined to believe that the Chappelle Theory is at least somewhat based in fact. It was so disgusting how Oprah sat up there and chastised Terrence Howard, Luda, and Don Cheadle for using the word nigga, while the camera cuts to shots of her 90% white audience nodding their heads in blind agreement. Oh please, you mindless middle class white soccer moms who can’t even go into a bookstore on your own and buy something unless Oprah deems it worthy, can spare me your irrelevant opinions. Like who the hell asked ya’ll anyway what you think of that word? Your ancestors created it, but now you can’t even hear it because it offends your politically correct sensibilities? And then they all want to cry and shit while Howard tells the story about his father getting beat up and thrown in jail? Kill yourselves. And did you see that racist black chick talking about she wouldn’t let a black locksmith change her locks because she’s afraid he would turn around and sell the key to somebody? Luda looked like he wanted to slap spit outta her mouth.  I will say however, that although it was obvious that Luda’s comments were edited, I don’t feel like he came across as ‘the ignorant rapper.’ He made some decent comments, but  it was painfully obvious that Oprah didn’t appreciate his presence on the show. It’s all good though Oprah, ‘cuz in 20 years when somebody like Hov or Russell are in the position you’re in, we won’t have to deal with close minded fools like yourself that feel they should control the domestic policy of black people. To borrow a phrase from Bol, let’s hunt and kill Oprah.

Oprah is corny. ONLY women listen to her, men just put up with her b.s cuz the wifey like her.
I mean I’d hit it. shoot, for a billion dollars~!

  2. Tyria Says:

Oh my goodness i do wish that i have watched the show only on that day. Why did Oprah play in those movies to support the African Americans and now i feel that someone is puting a gun up to her head to make her only respect all those who are not black. i do think that she is confused. Oprah makes me so mad. Oprah is not the only one that is racist, there are alot of people that need to come to terms that need to face the fact that you will not get anywhere in life being stupid. And just because you are rich it can simply be taken away. Life is short.

  3. CASTRO RANKIN Says:

I THINK IT IS A SHAME THAT THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY/ OR THE WORLD FOR THAT MATTER, THAT THINKS NIGGA AND NIGGER ARE NOT THE SAME THING…I AM FROM NEW YORK AND OUR DIALECT OR THE SLANG WE PUT ON OUR WORDS KINDA RUBS OFF CERTAIN PRONUNCIATIONS LIKE WORDS THAT WOULD END IN -ER TEND TO COME OUT SOUNDING LIKE -A..IF NIGGA IS NOT NIGGER, DOES THAT MEAN A NEW YORKA IS NOT A NEW YORKER? OR BIGGA ISNT BIGGA, OR A CRUISER ISNT CRUISA….THAT A AT THE END IS JUST A MATTER OF PRONUNCIATION. PEOPLE BLACK OR WHITE, WAY BACK THEN WHEN JIMMY CRACKED CORN AND THE MASTER WAS GONE, WAS STILL SAYING NIGGA, AND THERE WERENT ANY MINDLESS PEOPLE AROUND TRYING TO DERIVE A NEW WORD OR MEANING FROM IT. SOME WHITE KID AT MY OLD JOB CAME OVER WITH THAT NIGGA TALK AND I ALMOST FAINTED, THEN I SPAZZED.CAUSE SOMETHING IS SPELLED A CERTAIN WAY DOESNT CHANGE THE MEANING. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO SAY “NIGGA” AND MEAN NIGGER…THEY NOW HAVE A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY WITH OUR MIND(S). I GIVE OPRAH PROPS FOR NOT TOLERATING THE WORD….NOW A DAYS THERE ARE TOO MANY DUMB ASS FOOLS WHO ARE ALWAYS MAKING UP SOME BRAND NEW FOOLISHNESS. BUILD YOUR VOCABULARY, AND STOP EMBRACING THE WORD NIGGER/NIGGA. WHY CANT SOMEBODY ON THE BLOCK JUST SAY WHAT UP(WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS) NO! THEY GOTTA SAY WHAT UP MY NIGGA. BLACK PEOPLE ARE A SERIOUS VICTIM OF CONSIPIRACY, THAT IS STILL GOING STRONG TODAY, AND IT BASICALLY SEEMS HOPELESS…PEOPLE NOW ADAYS DONT WANT TO LEARN AND BETTER THEMSELVES INTELLIGENTLY….THEY RATHER BE THUGS, GO HANG OUT IN JAIL FOR 10 YEARS, BLACK THEY LUNGS WITH WHATEVER THEY CAN SMOKE ON, AND THEY WANT THE EASY ROAD ON EVERYTHING. BET YOU THEY THINK WHEN THEY, IF THEY GO TO HEAVEN, THEY GONNA BE CALLING GOD MY NIGGA?

  4. CASTRO RANKIN Says:

AND I STOPPED WATCHING OPRAH SINCE COLLEGE. I NOW HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY LIFE THAN SIT AROUND AND WATCH TELEVISION

  5. CASTRO RANKIN Says:

AND OPRAH DONATED A SHITLOAD OF MONEY TO BLACK COLLEGES, BUT EVERYONE CALLING HER A SELLOUT…..MAYBE SHE SHOULD TAKE HER MONEY BACK

  6. eskay Says:

maybe she should. you can’t buy me with money I’ll tell you that.

I understand what you’re saying about the word but you need to be realistic. that word isn’t going anywhere so you might as well get used to it. I use it and I am well aware of it’s origins and the stigma associated with it. I’m also well educated with a broad vocabulary. that word is part of the modern vernacular like it or not so I’d rather take it and flip the meaning and use it on my own terms then let it just be a word used by racists to demean me.

  7. esterveen Says:

Oprah cares more baout black people than Luda. Oprah has donated a QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS of her own money to charity according to Business Week making her the most generous black in U.S. history. Even Oprah’s audience has probably donated more money to blacks than Luda.

Oprah perpetuates POSITIVE black images like TONI MORRISON and doesn’t sell out her ancestors by using the N word like Luda.

Ever since Forbes reported that BET founder Bob Johnson has given part of his wealth to Shiela Johnson, Forbes has ranked Oprah as the RICHEST AFRICAN AMERICAN and THE WORLD’S ONLY BLACK BILLIONAIRE!!!

  8. laja Says:

I saw the show and Oprah had every right to express her opinion. Oprah treated those black men with respect.

Oprah is constantly promoting POSITIVE black images.

Oprah’s given a QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS of her OWN MONEY to black causes & Oprah’s audience has given MILLIONS more.

Just because Oprah’s now the world’s ONLY black billionaire (Bob Johnson no longer a billionaire) is no reason to hate her.

  9. JackIntheBox Says:

I cant believe people waste their time posting your comments. Im trying to do the world a favor in aiding you realise posting your opinions about a world of conformity which makes no difference In our world. Please Join greenpeace, start a band, write a book, collect sea shells by the sea shore. Do the world a favor and do something better with your lives.

  10. Future Mrs. Bridges Says:

I did not get to see the show myself but I already can imagine Oprah’s attitude could have been like towards Ludacris and Terrence. Only reason I researched to find out about the show was because Luda made a comment about it on his latest album. I feel as though, if Oprah is such a well respected black person she should show her pride in her heritage and give those that are up and coming like Luda a chance to speak their mind and not be labeled or advertised as the “dumb rapper”. Ludacris A*K*A Chris bridges does have a degree in Communications and actually is a very eloquent, gifted, young man that deserves respect on screen and off. Thanks Oprah for the positive image of another black man.

  11. troy123 Says:

Nigga is just a word. The context in which it is used determines whether it’s offensive or not.

  12. The Rebel Says:

Yo at the end of the day its just a word… a fucking word u muhda cunts… I understand the hatred behind it but hey I think its gangsta that we could flip it into a positive thing… ha take that u oppressors and racist

  13. Grazi Says:

Yo Im happy to see that a proud intelligent black woman has been able to do what Oprah has. That shit gives inspiration and hope to lots of people black or white that dont have a god damn thing to their names like myself. But in all actuality… FUCK Oprah. She IS a sellout, she just sold out in a politically intelligent manner.

How the fuck would she look being the only black billionaire and NOT donating money she will never need to black colleges and such? That shits politics yo, I doubt she even thought twice. I wouldnt be surprised if she just grabbed her assistant and had her choose how much and to where.

Im a white dude (technically speakin), and I AM evil, but that doesnt mean a god damn thing… Im glad I didnt watch that shit cause I probably woulda kicked the fuckin TV in. I give all the props in the world to Luda for speakin his mind and not bein a bitch. Say whatever the fuck you want homey, and FUCK that fake-black Oprah bitch. She has no right to govern his use of the word, just as I dont have any right telling anybody to or not to say it.

But Ill be straight up, I say that shit all the time and I dont give a flyin fuck. I say it to my few white friends and I say it to my black friends… Ill spit that shit in fuckin southeast DC or Baltimore city in a heartbeat and nobody ever thinks twice about it. Why? Cause of the CONTEXT. Im not sayin “man I was walkin up in 7/11 and some nigger bumped into me” FUCK no….

shit pops up like “dawg… you know how I fucked my car up right? Yeah well I had to walk to tha strip yesterday, and that shit put me in a bad mood, feel me? And when I saw what dude tried to pass off as a dub, I stole that nigga in his mothafuckin grill, robbed his ass, and dipped the fuck out!!!”

I truly dont give a fuck… the people that matter know how I mean it, and dont trip. Ive been up at a house party right outside DC and some dude tried to fuck wit me cause he heard it come out my mouth. I didnt even have time to react when dude put his hand on me cause like 8 of my niggaz dragged his ass outside and stomped his shit in common.

It aint about color, race, religion, background or none of that shit to me… they dont mean a god damn thing in my book. Its all about bein real, and the only thing I recognize is that were all human beings. So FUCK tha haters.

P.S. not sure why I responded as I will never check this shit again….. but peace yall
