There were some classic interviews this year! Kanye West was responsible for most of them, but we enjoyed a bunch of others, too. And that’s not only because of the artists, but the interviewers as well. Here are 13 Interviews You Should’ve Paid Attention To in 2013, courtesy of NahRight and UpNorthTrips.

1. Busta Rhymes on The Combat Jack ShowThe Combat Jack Show bodied its first season on Complex TV, and their sit-down with Busta Rhymes was one of the more interesting highlights.

2. Cam’ron Interview with The Breakfast Club – Cam sits down with the Power 105 morning show crew to address everything. It’s one of the best interviews of his career, easily.

3. Dame Dash on The Combat Jack Show – Dame Dash talks candidly with the Combat Jack crew. Must listen.

4. DJ Khaled Interview with the Hot 97 Morning Show – “You’re a liarrrrrr!”

5. DJ Premier Interview with DJ Whoo Kid – Primo’s seen it all. Loads of great history here.

6. Flatbush Zombies Interview with Nardwuar – These guys know how to have a good time with The Human Serviette.

7. French Montana Interview with The Fat Jew – The Fat Jew explores the many uses of “Haaaan” during this unforgettable Crosby Press sit-down. Peep the painting at the end too!

8. Ghostface Killah Interview with Montreality – Ghost drops science during a trip across the Canadian border. Pay attention, then peep this bonus clip.

9. Ja Rule and Irv Gotti on Juan Epstein – Ja and Irv talk about the early Roc-A-Fella days and much more on a very classic episode of Juan Ep. Read about more of their classic episodes here.

10. Kanye West interview with Sway – Sway may not have had the answers, but he had some great questions.

11. Kanye West Interview with Zane Lowe – Plenty of quotables here, and of course, Jimmy Kimmel did a classic reenactment of it on his late night talk show, which Kanye didn’t appreciate much.

12. Mannie Fresh on Juan Epstein -Peter and Ciph dive into some deep New Orleans and Cash Money history with Mannie Fresh.

13. Redman Interview with Snoop Dogg on GGN – These two definitely belong on Mt. Kushmore.
